If I was a Port I would be rapt! Absolute gun, he is an explosive midfielder who can push forward similair to Dusty Martin and Jobe Watson.

Great pick, i would be worried about homesickness as others have said.

This is nothing against Port (more any team outside of Vic in terms of Ollie) but the reaction on his face when he was not drafted to a Vic club was upsetting to watch.

Think you got a good one in him mate, didnt see his reaction on TV so cant comment but a few are suggesting its a worry. When isnt it when you select interstate players. Soft as these days, i left home at 17 and never looked back, had a great home life but couldnt wait to get out on me own .

Bio: Strong medium midfielder with a distinct hard edge that wins him contested ball, including at the stoppages. Has elite endurance and can push forward and hit the scoreboard. Ferocious tackler who is a good overhead mark and prolific ball winner. Averaged 24.2 disposals for Vic Country in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships this year, winning All-Australian honours. AIS-AFL Academy Graduate.

West Coast's draftees are all from WA.

I feel like later on in the draft the players home state may come into consideration but in the top 20 you just gotta pick the best players their and if they're from the clubs home state it's a bonus!!

Very true ele with the top 20, dont think the Pies have recruited an SA lad for some time but they had no qualms taking three in a row out of the top 20, cant let the fear of home sickness dictate your moves when picking in the top 20.
