Andrew Gaff

Stats
2012 Games: 22

2012 Ave: 90.4

Centuries: 10

FanPlanner Price: $480,200

Position: Midfield

Thoughts
Gaff had somewhat of a mini break out year boosting his average up 29 PPG while playing every match. His ten ton’s along with 3 scores in the ninety’s was very impressive, also extremely impressive is his ball winning ability averaging 24.6 touches a match and dropping under 20 touches just four times. Gaff is more of an outside player (ranked second in total uncontested possessions in 2012) but uses his run and carry to great effect, ranking 7th in both bounces per game and total kicks. He has massive scoring potential, highlighted by performance against Gold Coast in round 14, subbed off half way through the third quarter yet he had already gathered 25 touches and 109 SC points. Gaff also had a solid finals series collecting 26 possessions in both finals and returning scores of 110 and 90.

Verdict
He will come at a price this year, but with the likes of Priddis, Selwood and Shuey doing the in and under work Gaff will again benefit hugely. SC star in the making, just a matter of when.

Prediction
104, will step it up a gear.

One of my favourite players! Took the punt on him this year and he did pretty well for me, at that price point not sure I can do it again but I love him so much I just might anyway.

Great write up Shorty. :)

+ Shuey is one of my favorite players also. Knows how to rack up the ball but he would be a risky pick. Is a chance to break out this year or the next and will be a SC gun then

Speculator

My concern with this selection is hisn reliance on his outside game and its effect on his ability to score supercoach lucrative cleareances and contested possessions.

Teams refuse to man up on this guy. Couldn't count the amount of times a saw him streaming down the wing at Pattersons all by himself. Even if he reaches your predicted avg of 104 though, that still isnt near the sort of numbers I would consider for a midfielder in my side

thanks Sid
He is in that awkward price range for sure, a very exciting player. But your right quinny you would be looking for more from a midfielder at that price. cheers for the comments.

Yep me too. Lots of the pill but usually uncontested. More of a DT player.

shorty3264

he does need to improve his inside game atm, but on the big ground of Subi he can do some damage with his pace.
Will be a superstar in a few years time.

Jay

More of a DT'er, will be a gun soon though.

Pass for me at this stage

Adamant

Will become a gun SC'er in the next 2 years. Wont be taking the punt on him this year though.
