Dont mind that team  .. strong forward line .. good work

Its interesting to see how many people are loading up in defence. Im the opposite and im loading up in the midfield and forward line. my cheapest forward is Josh Kennedy :P

Im a huge fan of the duffield pick after his 2nd half of the year, not sure about Heppells value however with Goddard coming into the team. Think your team looks better without Pederson who is way too overpriced imo.

No Pendlebury? Really? surely the guy has to be a lock for a lot of teams, very underpriced. Same goes for M Murphy to some extent. i personally see more bang for youre buck in pendles rather than someone like beams :D

Lewis is an interesting pick, dont see tooo much value in him and he will be much of a muchness in comparison to last year. Slyvia could be a wicked pick. with Clark fit, Pederson, Gawn hopefully and a few others, may not need him to play forward so much and could be solely midfield where he will kill it. its just no matter what, this guy cant play a full seaosn, theres always something, which is a shame as he could seriously tear the competition apart.

I really reaaaaally want Stevie J to start with but cant bring myself to pick him. I got a feeling Stevie J is going to spend a lot more time in the midfield like he did in the second half of the year. Geelong's midfield is nowhere where it used to be and they really need him in there, they play better when hes running through the guts. then you gotta worry about hard tags more often, which can trouble stevie from time to time, so it makes him an interesting pick.

Mr.Craig

I see Beams and Pendles as both being top 8 mids and they are priced reasonably close to each other so I don't have a problem picking Dayne. Considering he came into the season underdone and three of his poorest scores were in his first three games you could probably mount an argument that he's slightly underpriced too. Having said that, if I need to find some money he will be the one that turns into Pendles or Murphy.

Lewis for me provides certainty. It doesn't hurt that he's one of my favourite players but if you look at his disposal count and DT averages for the past few years they are unbelievably consistent compared to most. I'd much rather take the safe approach than punt on Wright, De Boer, Martin etc., especially when I have Sylvia and Knights in my forwards who I expect will give me enough headaches.

With Heppell, I'm not entirely in love with that pick. While Grimes, Birchall and Hartlett all appeal to me, they have a variety of issues that are a concern. Much like Lewis, he's just there to bank decent scores week in week out rather than be flashy.

azza707

Fair enough with Lewis and you raised some decent points, but like i said im going to try and aim for the best 6-7 forwards and im not sure Lewis would even be in the top 10 come the end of the year?? Great player and all, but if you have the cash lying around, having someone like Pav, Stevie J instead wont hurt.

Yehh those 3 defenders also concern me, lately ive gotten on the suckling train now that Young is gone. think he will clean up on the wing all day long. Heppell could still be a very good pick dont get me wrong. I was going to pick him straight away from DT 2013, however the inclusion of Goddard does have me worried a bit. But then again bombers did trade Lonergan so Goddard pretty much takes his spot, its one way you could look at it. We'll have to wait til NAB cup as always and see what Hirdy has planned :)

Probably too risky. Tempting though...

I'd prefer another premium down back TBH.

I've gone with a three premium fwd line as I think you can afford to gamble up front, but not down back to a degree.  :-\

Love the Bartel inclusion. Still reckon Swanny instead of another fwd premium is better?  ???

Mr.Craig

Was just playing around. It'll all be different tomorrow I'd imagine...and the day after....

nrich102

Yes, another premo down back would be good, other than that its pretty good.

This may or may not affect your team selection, but Bartel and Daisy are both in moon boots ATM...

Mr.Craig

They should both be fine for Round 1. Obviously a bit of a concern with conditioning but hopefully they get a pre-season run to blow off the cobwebs.

tbagrocks

Forward line obviously looks great but imo, a few of them will drop in value

Can you afford to start that midfield?

3rd year of DT and getting hooked big time, but struggling with strategies.  1047th draft of each side so far.  Thoughts?

Mr.Craig

This is the thread I started to post my teams tiger. ;)

But for what it's worth I think Team 1 looks better.
