The West Coast Eagles Football Club has become aware that young forward Murray Newman was involved in an incident last week and has subsequently been charged with grievous bodily harm.

Murray will face court as a result of this incident.

The club is bitterly disappointed that Murray put himself in that position and will await the outcome of the legal process before making any further comment.

The AFL has been made aware of this incident.

this bit worries me
QuoteUnder WA law, GBH is ” is any bodily injury of such a nature as to endanger, or be likely to endanger life, or cause or be likely to cause permanent injury to health".

It carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in jail.

Also know as the one punch law
He is in deep shower depending how bad the person he hit is hurt.
We have a friend that this happened to he nearly died and is still not completely right 4yrs(it could be more)after it happened and the guys that did it are all in jail for it.

Its getting worse for Newman.... Woosha beat him in a 2km time trial run today at training.

QuoteThe second-year player finished last, running the first two kilometres in 8 min 13 sec and being beaten by coach John Worsfold.

What's a league footballer going to get alcohol after 11pm for during pre-season training? :-\ maybe that's the problem ;)

So what, most teams have started by mid November every year and players should be ready to go and not buying alcohol after 11pm ::)

I should add that Woosha is still quite fit and does a lot of local fun runs etc.
