Was just announced on Fox Sports News that Beckham could play in the A-League as soon as next month for a 10 game stint.  It's unknown which clubs are in for him at this stage, but who ever gets him it's a win for the league as a whole as he will get the crowds up.

Thoughts?

Glory, Glory, Glory!!

Yeah massive win for the A-League! I think he will go to WSW or a Melbourne club though :(

Your assumptions are somewhat correct LE. :'(

Well WSW already have a marquee player, so even though they are bakrolled at the moment it might not be them.  That said, it was reported he's not asking for too much money, so you never know.  Don't think he'll come to the Victory.  Ange has a long term plan for us, and as class as Becks would be, fitting him into the twam for ten games may through that system out for a while.  Can see him going to somewhere like Perth or Brisbane tbh.

He won't wanna come to Perth :P I'd be stoked if he did, Tony Sage might have to dig bloody deep :-\

Del Piero has brought the crowds back to sydney.

35K first game against Newcastle and 21k against Victory last weekend, but the way Sydney are playing is thining the crowd. Threw the game against Victory.

Great news for WSW and the A-league

Probably not, but I could see him playing there for some reason.  As far as location goes Sydney does seem the most logical place, with Melbourne second and then maybe Brisbane.

Ballack > Beckham as a player, but Beckham would get soooo much publicity, and cash through gate receipts and shirt sales.

And at Glory he'd struggle to make our first team.

This would be great for Australian soccer and definitely bring in bigger crowds and I would love to see Beckham in the A-League!

As a massive fan on bringing the A-League up and making it better and better, I am stoked with this news!

It seems that there are various reasons for Beckham to not go to a certain club, whether it would be Location or Team Structure.

I really don't care which team he goes to, any will do!

Maybe Adelaide? Our government is making all the right noises in supporting a marquee player after Van Dijk leaves in the transfer window.

Seems as though this isn't true at all.  Beckham's agent has flat out denied he is coming to Australia, though Gallop is still optimistic.  Pretty embarrassing for the FFA seeing as they made a press conference and everything, lol.

Now, I don't often back Jukesy up but Glory Centre half Michael Thwaite also said Becks would have to fight for a spot.

Honestly though I think he would start over McGarry and we'd line up like this:

                  Vuka

Risdon, VDB, Thwaite, Jamo

Heffernan, Miller, Burns, Dodd

               Beck
                       Smeltz

I don't rate Heffernan but every other Glory fan + Ian Ferguson seems to.
