I really rate Forster but he still needs a year to develop. Has struggled with injury and fitness this year and played WAFL reserves. Can see him definitely becoming a gun player but needs a little longer to develop yet. I don't think we will see much of him this year but definitely 2014 onwards

valk, you guys have lost mcphee and broughton now...

who slots in/ what position changes does that make to freos lineup now?

Danyle Pearce for Broughton, Lee Spurr for McPhee.

Backline goes like this IMO:

FB: Michael Johnson, Zac Dawson, Lee Spurr
HB: Paul Duffield, Luke McPharlin, Danyle Pearce

Ibbotson is also in the mix.

You still have Ibbo, Silvagni, Faulks, Suban, Forster in the mix for the backline

Cicjose

i would take Silvagni over Dawson but yeah we do have plenty of depth down back

For sure, but lining up Round 1, that's what I reckon they'd go with.

so from what he said in the article he might play a for a Vic club?

If he retires then he wont be able to - that loop hole was closed when Mal Michael retires from the Lions only to turn up at the Bombers.

oh ok but didn't Luke Power retire then play for GWS or was that allowed because he was a coach also?

Power was delisted, not retired.
Do not like arguing with other membners but Power did retire was not delisted.

they have power as retired, he was asked to leave though. I could be wrong, but in the end brisbane got one of GWS's picks for him, so it ended up being a trade?

Noz

From what i recall Power retired the 2nd last game of the 2011 season, He was approached by GWS a few weeks later and offered him a mentoring role as player/coach.

Interested to know in why Faulks hasn't received more game time i know he has had some niggling injuries including that sickening clash last year but will he be set for more game time next year?

valkorum

Faulks plays a Key Post role and they are covered by McPharlin and Zac at the moment.

I am a big fan of Faulks. He has something about him, but unfortunately he gets injured just when there is a spot for him.
If all goes well for him, and he has no injuries, I can see a spot for him now what Mcphee has gone.He could, I am sure, play a similar role to that of McPhee.

valkorum

You could also make a case for Silvagni to take McPhee's role as well.  Gonna be interesting

anchorman

Valk,I think Faulks is a stronger player than Silvagni. He is able to hold his ground much easier against bigger guys.Or that's the way I see it.Faulks is taller but lighter than Silvagni according tot he Dockers site.
I am not sure with McPhee leaving will save Lower. Not sure he has a spot to fill now that we have Mundy and Barlow back in form. Also with the arrival of a new chum called Morabito. ;)
Interesting times ahead.

valkorum

I see it the other way round Anchorman

Silvagni is stronger than Faulks but Faulks is more creative rebounding out of the back half.  I see Faulks as the replacement for McPharlin and Silvagni for Dawson.  That being said.....

McPharlin >>>>>>> Faulks
Dawson > Silvagni

anchorman

Huge boots to fill are those of McPharlin.not sure either of them can do it.
I am still not sure of Dawson.I see him during games he he disappoints me,then I see him on replay and I see it entirely differently. He doesn't get a lot of the ball but he is a stopper and a great spoiler of the ball.He blocks the gaps and allows the other more accomplished backmen to do their work.

So.... has McPhee actually retired? I've seen nothing official, just that he has sold his house? Maybe he is renting for a few months while his fam is in Victoria? (A stretch, but who knows!)
