My first write up so don't be too harsh.

Jimmy Bartel

Age: will be 30 soon.
2011 Games: 21
2011 Average: 97.4
2012 Games: 19
2012 Average: 95.5

2012 Scores:
110 110 91  108 77  75 92 100  115 74  118  88 102 69 94 108 98  Finals : 111

9 Tons (including final)
5 scores between 85 - 99
Only 4 scores below 85

Standard Deviation: 19.6

2013 DRAW:
Teams he verses twice: average over last 4 games
Sydney: 97.5
Hawks:  97.8
North:   103.8
Lions:    107.3
Power:   106.0

POSITIVES:

  • Super consistent
  • Nice ceiling
  • Proven performer
  • Durable - missed only 9 games over the past 8 seasons!
  • DPP M/F!
  • Has a good draw, Loves playing NM, BL and PA, has a decent record against Sydney and Hawks
  • Has a great bye round in round 12, only sharing it with SJ, chappy and Sylvia of relevance
  • Everyone loves Jimmy!

NEGATIVES:

  • Getting older
  • Will have less midfield time, is going to be playing a sweeping role like Joel Bowden did in his last year, a real 'Mr. Fix It'
  • His average has been consistently dropping since 2007 (119, 113, 109, 105, 97, 95)

Verdict:
Although he is getting older and with less midfield time he is tempting me! Mainly because of his handy bye round and I like consistentcy.
Currently a tad behind SJ

Prediction:

94.2

OPEN TO REQUESTS

tbagrocks

My third current favorite player after the great man and the Sloaneburger. Really hard to see him dominating DT scores seeing the Cats may go down a midfield youth policy, and as a forward probably not either with Dusty ahead of him. But if named as a back then he may find himself on a team named tbag ;D

Toga

Good first write up mate! :)

Probably won't be starting him but if he goes ok will have to have a look!

Kellogscrunchynut

Great player but hasn't been a good DT choice for several years now and now at the age of 30 I can't see anything that will drastically change that.

The_Captain

think hes only 28 isnt he?? turning 29 next month?

The_Captain

Just double checked.. he he 28, 29 next month. Only 6 months older than swan and ablett. So age really not an issue. More about position he will play...

Mr.Craig

It'll be interesting to see which way people go if all three of Bartel, Rocky and Daisy get M/F.

Rocky & Daisy would be mega locks, particularly Rocky. I highly doubt Daisy will get it though.

Oh and very good write up mate.

Bartel will most likely be an upgrade target for me - dont see much value in him being priced at 95.

nrich102

Good write up mate. I have already done him though, Yours is better than mine though  :P so it probably wont matter.

Ricochet

Very nice mate,
I actually think he will drop below 90 this year with less midfield time. And he is not getting any younger either so I'll be staying away i think

Considering I ended up with Martin as my F7, I'd be thrilled to have Jimmy in that position next year.
