Great goal, but there have been far greater where the GK has been beaten without being off his line.

I can't post the video's as I'm at work, but 2 that come to mind are;

Ned Zelic back in 92' from the goaline, and Ronaldinho scored a goal for Barcelona vs Chelsea in 2005 from the Champions League
That Ronaldinho goal where he's like standing still when he kicks it?
I think I know what you mean.. I'll have a look for it...

Found it:

That's the one. How someone can generate that much power and accuracy whist standing still is amazing.

I remember watching that goal live and just being in complete awe.  Stunning strikes from range are fun to watch, but from a pure footballing point of view that Argentina goal is simply amazing.  That's how football should be played.

Fletch74

That's what football is all about. That goal is pure brilliance..

This was Jimmy Carr's take on Ibra's goal...

"Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored the greatest goal ever against England. This is the most amazing football feat since John Terry managed to persuade a jury that he's not a racist."

Mexes could give him a run for his money.

Against RSC Anderlecht in the Champions League just a few days ago for AC Milan.

Exact same style of kick, just with a chester first to control it, and just a little bit outside the box.

Also no Goalkeeper error.

Not bad from a defender.

Mexes or Ibrahimovic?

Ibra's was probably better due to greater distance, but i loved Mexes' because it was for Milan and he did all the work.

and also cos he had a keeper to beat and a defender right on him.. Ibra had a bit of space

Still, I couldn't score either of those goals haah
