QuoteGilchrist, Sir Vivian Richards lead all star teams for UOW cricket match
Many of the greatest cricketers of the modern era including Sir Vivian Richards, Brian Lara and Adam Gilchrist will play in a Twenty20 cricket match at the University of Wollongong on Sunday 18 November to help raise funds for the University’s health and medical research.

Richards will have the services of two fellow West Indian captains, the great Brian Lara and Carl Hooper. Other former internationals taking part include Australians Tom Moody, Damien Martyn, Michael Bevan and Stuart MacGill, English players Adam Hollioake and Graeme Hick, New Zealander Scott Styris and Pakistan’s Waqar Younis.

The curtain-raiser at 11.30am will be a Town v Gown celebrity match featuring stars of sport and the entertainment industry. Dual rugby league and rugby union international Wendell Sailor will lead the Town XI while St George Illawarra’s NSW and Australian representative and UOW Commerce student Ben Creagh will lead the Gown XI.

Will this be on tv?  I loved Damien Martyn, he was my favourite player at one point, so I'd love to see him in this.

While you're there...

See if you can talk Stu into taking up international cricket again so we can get a real spinner in the side.

I hope they at least get highlights of it on Youtube or something. Some great names there.  :o Lara, Styris and Younis are probably amongst my favourite players of all time.

I'll be at my primary school's open day though, apparently it's had stacks of changes since I left six years ago, and I'm a Melbournian and I doubt I'd be able to get up there... :P

Capper

dont think it will be on TV. Will get heeps of snaps and maybe some video

I'm honestly going for the lulz and because a couple of my friends from primary are probably gonna get down for it too and I haven't seen most of them in ages. Probably won't recognise a thing. If I was even remotely close to Wollongong, I'd definitely go to the game instead.  8)

Just checked the TV guide and there isn't anything there... :'(

...I hope they come to their senses and broadcast this somehow.

well what a fantastic day, i needed that after the last couple of weeks.

I am quite sunburnt but not as bad as others, plenty of stories, plenty of sun shine.

JB even took a catch and may have hurt himself trying to take another. Mind you he didnt move much between mid off and third man the whole day. As i remember stuff i will post it. Only had my phone as a camera (so the photos arent too gooda quality) but if i find other photos i will post them
