Orren Stephenson, Josh Toy and Cameron Wood have been invited to train with us.
Addam Maric will also continue to train with us!

I was like "CADDY?! NO WAY", then clicked the link and saw Toy.

Don't mind this. Not opposed to the pick up of Toy, but don't like Orren or Wood as an option. If I had to pick, I would probably go with Stephenson. Still would prefer Seaby though.

I would take wood over the bigO. Wood's only 25. Reguardless though we need to draft a young ruckman to develop.
Isn't Pettard training with us aswell? I would certainly be willing to pick him up. Looked like a gun in the making early 2010 before injuries struck

Mailman the 2nd

Just take Seaby in the developing transition of Derickx and Vickery.

Once he's gone his full career (you'd think 2-3 years or so) they should be mature enough to either come in to help Maric or be sent off the list.

I might have got it wrong though. Do you guys have any other ruckmen? I count Maric, Derickx and Vickery

Vickery is never going to be a ruckman though. He's a CHF that can relieve a ruckman for 5 minutes a qtr, similar to someone like Tippet.
And Derickx is already 25. Was a mature age recruit so not sure how much improvement he really has left in him.
I actually dont see the benefit in getting in an older guy like Seaby but I could be wrong.
Nah they are our only 3 rucks. Graham was traded and Brown delisted

He's 25!  :o

Ok, the situation is more complex than I originally thought!

So does this mean Addam Maric is coming back next year?

Toga

Wouldn't mind seeing us pick up Petterd and Toy, and I guess having Wood as a depth ruckman wouldn't be too bad. Who knows, he might grow a mullett and turn into a superstar, we might as well give him a rookie contract :P

That way, whether he improves or not, we at least have two mature ruckman to come into the team if need be.

Petterd would add even more depth to a talented lineup of small/medium fwds, allowing players like Dusty and maybe even Knightsy to push up into the midfield a bit more. Would rather see him be offered a contract than Addam Maric.

Toy, as I've said on the other thread, would make a good replacement for Newy when he decides to hang up the boots in a couple of years time.

I dunno how we will fit everyone on our rookie list.
We only have 2 picks, as rookie lists have been slashed to a maximum of 4. (Not sure if it counts our international rookie)

Kellogscrunchynut

And does anyone know how many picks we can take in the national draft to ensure a preseason draft pick?

Toga

The spots we freed up on our list:

1. Knights
2. Chaplin
3. Edwards
4. Pick #9
5. Pick #29
6. Pick #31
7. Pick #50
8.
9.

So it all depends on how many Nat Draft picks we use i guess... but at the moment we have 6 spots available on our list.

Sign Wood as a delisted FA and pick up Toy in the PSD and rookie Petterd. A no to Mini Maric and Orren

Maybe pick Jacobs with one of those middle round draft picks aswell.
