HAWTHORN captain Luke Hodge could miss the first month of the 2013 season as he recovers from stabilisation surgery to his left knee.

Hodge is yet to be back to his best since 2011 and would be a risky pick for SC next season.

ok after this year if a player doesnt have a pre-season i am pretty much sure that i wont pick them. With out a pre-season they will struggle in the first couple of games and it sounds like he wont play till R5

Was thinking about him to be my big roughy next year, but clearly isn't over his injuries. No thanks Luke.

Dont want to write him off completely but he is heading towards my "never again list"
So injury prone and getting older

Heading in that direction for myself as well Quinny. If he misses these rounds it'll be the 6th season in a row he has missed at least 1 game in the season. This injury will make it tough for him to break into the team and beyond that he's pushing 30...The way he plays puts so much stress on his body and it's looking like he can't put these injuries behind him - always has a niggle. :-\

Its a shame really

It is, the way he plays could rob us of more of a highlight package. Hard and tough in and under they dont come much better. Was hoping he could get back to being a fantasy gem again, his body would be broken. Love ya work Hodgey.
