SUPERCOACH PLAYER RESEARCH

Hi All,
Considering the popularity off the "HIRE A DT DETECTIVE" Thread by the Almighty Colliwobblers. I have decided to start one up for all us Supercoach players

Each player's article will recieve

  • Player name, Club, Position.

  • Players Specs, DOB, Height, Weight, Age.

  • Players Draft / Recruitment History

  • Past Season AFL Stats.

  • Past Season stats in other competitions.

  • SC Scoring History
  • Confirmed SC price and position when becomes available

  • Player Photo
  • Links to Video, articles and discussions on FF about this player
  • NAB Cup stats when it comes around
  • What the AFL Prospectus says (When it arrives, should be mid-January)
  • A player rating (Opinion)

Basically all these dot points come from Colli and Noz's thread

PLEASE READ
Before you guys say anything about this Thread I would just like to say I am not doing this to be better than Colli (Because lets face it who can) but to offer an different opinion to his. Also to provide all you guys with Info and for myself to learn more about players in fantasy.

Research Assistant: c4v3m4n

Also feel free to re-write or do a request if it has yet to be done. I would love other's opinions on player's that I write up

Matthew Arnot please.

Matthew Arnot
#44   Richmond Tigers
Age: 19yr    Games: 0     Born: October 21, 1993
Height: 180cm     Weight: 87kg     Position: Midfield
Last Drafted: Round 3, Pick #55 2011 National Draft
Last Drafted By: Richmond Tigers

Matthew, an inside midfielder, was selected by Richmond at number 55 in the 2011 National Draft.

In his final season at the Oakleigh Chargers Mark consistently performed and was a vital part of their push to the TAC Cup grand final.

Richmond recruiting manager, Francis Jackson, was excited to add matthew to the Tiger’s list.

“Matthew is an ultimate competitor who plays with aggression and thrives on the physical contact”.

“He is a good clearance player, who is creative with his hands and has good lateral movement.  He also is a neat kick, has a very strong work rate and pushes himself to exhaustion.

“We are pleased to add Matthew to our list and have no doubt he will leave no stone unturned to being the best AFL player he can be.”

Hamstring injuries hampered his first year at Tigerland, but he was still able to play some consistent football for Richmond’s affiliate side Coburg in 2012.

TAC Cup Stats:

Couldn't find a complete list but was often in the BOG

Rookie Priced Player - 6/10 - Considering he is a midfield and Richmond have a stacked emerging one coming I wouldn't think his JS is great. One day he will be a great inside midfielder but this year I wouldn't think so as long as Tuck, Cotchin, Ellis and Martin are there. There is also a huge range of Midfield rookies this year so unless he tons all his NAB games I probably wouldn't get him. One to watch in the NAB cup

I will be very surprised if Arnot doesn't get a chance to play in the first side this coming season.

This bloke is an absolute unit for a 19 year old!!

He potentially could but just because of Richmond young and emerging midfield I wouldn't think so until mid year.

While we're doing lads from my school (yes, I brought that up again...), Alex Woodward.

I was considering him last year and may consider him again if the research delivers good news. Apparently the Hawks were pretty high on him before he did his ACL in the NAB Cup last year. Would be good to see where he's at fantasy-wise considering the Hawks and their tough side to crack.

Ringo

Nice initiative Loc - Although similar to the player profile thread this is somewhat different.

Just as a bit of challenge to you to assist you can you do these 2 Queenslanders who will probably be priority picks for GC,

Clay Cameron and Andrew Boston.

"Vic Metro U18 rep. Inside mid who reads play and uses ball well. Great work ethic, excellent in the air. Extremely team-oriented. From Dingley JFC." - Kevin Sheehan

Woodward is a third-round draft selection from last year's draft. He represented Vic Metro at the NAB Under-18 Championships last year and is renowned for his work ethic and ability to win one-on-one contests. An inside midfielder who reads the ball well at stoppages, he also has clean hands. Has a few inside midfielders ahead of him for a game at Hawthorn but will attempt to impress and develop at Box Hill.

He missed the whole of last season recovering from an ACL injury he got in the 2012 NAB cup .

TAC Cup stats: Alex ranked 2nd for both clearences and contested possesions. He also came 2nd in 2011's Morrish medal ahead of Taylor Adams and Adam Kennedy two of the best rookies from 2012.

Rookie Priced Player - 7/10 - Alex will be a gun in and under midfielder one day. Expect him to be a Luke Ball/ Brad Sewell type of player who will always give 110% every game. I personally think Hawthorn got a steal for pick 55 but anyway I don't think he will get much gametime this year for two reasons. One, Hawthorn have a very strong midfield and two, he missed most of last year. If he does well in the NAB and gets named round 1 I would jump on him but I don't think he will get a regular gig and with so many midfield rookies out there already I personally would stay away for now.

UPDATE 15/1/2013
Hawthorn youngster Alex Woodward has left training with a knee injury, raising fears he needs a second full reconstruction.

Thanks mate, that's gold. I do agree, will be less likely to appear this year. Hopefully puts in the hard yards to catch the eye of the selectors and make the 22.

Andrew Boston

“Medium midfielder who excelled in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships for QLD, averaging 18.2 disposals at 70% and winning All Australian honours. Clean hands and neat disposal skills are features of his game.” - Kevin Sheehan

One of the most promising talents to come out of Queensland this year, Boston impressed at the AFL draft combine where he kicked the first perfect score in the goalkicking test.

He can play in the midfield or in the forward line, adding some creativity to the mix. Can be a ball magnet and is expected to go as a top 30 selection unless Gold Coast take him as a Priority Pick

Key Stats: 2012 NAB U18 AFL All-Australian team
2012 NEAFL NAB Rising Star Award
Invited to 2012 NAB AFL Draft National Combine

Rookie Priced Player (Most Likely) - 7/10 - Probably a bit harsh but hard to know at this stage. Definately looks like he could be a top pick but there is not much info at stats on him yet. Will update after draft

UPDATE 18/12/12
Andrew Boston is Gold Coact Sun for the 2013 season being select number 55 in the rookie draft. More info in the link below

"He is big at 192cm and mid-80kgs and we think that for a player of 18, he still has a lot of room for growth and development," - Marcus Ashcroft

Cameron, A versatile big man was struck down by Osteitis Pubis in 2010 but since then he has bounced back into footy. His resilience has earned him a spot on Gold Coast's list as the first zone selection, picked over Andrew Boston.

Stats: N/A

Rookie Priced Player - 5.5/10 -  Couldn't find much info but should be a very big effort player in years to come considering he has recovered from osteitis pubis. I wouldn't pick him because young KPP usually take a while to develop and score well. Might be a worthy pick if your short of rookies in the Backline or Fowards

Ringo

Well done Loc - Personally prefer Boston to Cameron.  Have seen both and Boston impressed me more,

Nice write ups to.
