It's 30 minutes away from the the first ball, the toss is about to occur.

I hear that Starc is looking like 12th man so Lyon comes in.

I love the build-up to te first test of a real series like this. Pity there hasn't been more of it in the media. Down here in Melbourne there's too much racing distracting everyone.

Capper

yep starc 12th man. Good to see Pigeon out there on the mic.

Get it going

Bit surprised that Imran Tahir got left out for the South Africans. Looks like Duminy's the only slow bowling option.

Hawka

Theres a thread for discussion like there has been previous summers :P

Does it really matter where it's discussed?  I actually think a new thread for each test is a good idea tbh.

Anyway, I was hoping we would go for the four quicks as I'm not too sure there's going to be a great deal for the spinners.  SA haven't gone with a specialist spinner and I think that could be a key decision.  Would have liked to have won the toss as well, so we're going to have to bowl really well.  A few early wickets would help settle the nerves.  Smith and Petersen can go cheaply so we have to pile the pressure on early.

So pumped though.  C'MON AUSSIES!

Calling for a challenge and using DRS in the third over? Wow.

Billy Bowden's umpiring too!  ::)

No wow about it. It was a pointless challenge because Michael Clarke is a knob

That one seemed to have worked in their favour.

This is why the review system is so flowering retarded.  What's the point in it?   If it was given out originally it stays out but because it was called not out first, even though it's the exact same ball, it's not out even though it was clearly out.

Yeah, great system.
