Always the first to point out my faults aren't you CF.... :P
Haha I just wanted to know where my horse finished. Not my fault you have so many :P

Edit: Just looked now that you have put in the results and saw my horse won that race. That's very exciting :D

first time i've seen Ethiopia lose a long-distance race ::)

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAH BEST CALL EVER!!!
No it's not, I don't want to rain on the parade, but the horse was pulled out of the race at the top of the straight, obviously something was wrong with him,

If there if something wrong with an African runner they pull out of the race, that's how it is, don't want to seem harsh but the horse was pulled up so really it's a DNF so can't compare to a slow Etheopian!

A laceration in it's right hip to be precise.

Rightio.

Ladies and gentlemen, the horses are making their way to the mounting yard.

The 2012 FanFooty Derby is the strongest field yet, with a record 58 entrants from all over Australia. Last years winner CrowsFan leads the field out, followed by veterans whatlez and elephants, crowd favourite BoredSaint (had to pick someone) and the other 54 entrants.

Please stay tuned for LIVE coverage of the race.

The horses are taking their places in the barriers. Phasir, NigeyS and tabs seem to be spooked and are having trouble entering but the stewards finally have them in place.

We are all set for the 2nd running of the FanFooty Derby.

And we are off and racing!

Mailman, BratPack, j959, Dudge have pulled out of the gates early, closely followed by LaHug, Ziplock, Grazz, McRooster, bomberboy0618. Right behind them is BB67th, DazBurg, pyronerd and gossiboy. Bringing up the rear is T Dog, tabs, Nails, elephants.

300m in now, LaHug has pushed up and taken the early lead closely followed by BratPack whose inches behind. What's this? Tominator has come out for nowhere early and is giving the leaders a hard time. DazBurg, BoredSaint, bomberboy0618, BB67th, gossiboy are following close behind.

The horses are passing the 600m mark and this looks to be a close one! BratPack, DazBurg, crowd favourite BoredSaint and LaHug are neck and neck, very closely followed by Tominator, BB67th, Spinking, j959, Kellogscrunchynut, McRooster, Hellopplz, Fletch74 and bomberboy0618. Within another length is JBs-Hawks, Ziplock, Toga, Mailman the 2nd and bringing up the rear is Torpedo10, Jukes and Spite.

As the horses pass the half way mark now, LaHug has regained the lead, closely followed in toe by BB67th and BratPack. 13Brummy has made a play and jumped up into equal 3rd with Kellogscrunchynut, Noz, Grazz, BoredSaint, Spinking all following closely. Dudge who has out early has dropped off significantly, has he turned lame?  :o The race that stops a nation has its dramas, could this be the first of many?

Woah! What's this?

j959 has found a gap, pushed through strongly and taken the lead! 13Brummy has gained an extra position, Tominator is still up and about, bomberboy0618 has pushed up strongly, Kellogscrunchynut following closely, then BB67th, NigeyS, whatlez and Ziplock. BoredSaint has dropped off now back into equal 10th with DazBurg, Master Q and Noz. Behind them are tbagrocks, Fletch74, Spinking, LaHug, pyronerd and nrich102. Torpedo10, Spite are still lingering at the back, along with c4v3m4n, elephants, fidou and Nails.

We're coming into the final parts of the race now, j959 continues to hold his lead, 13Brummy still in 2nd, Tominator still in 3rd, bomberboy0618, Kellogscrunchynut haven't changed positions either. DazBurg has strengthened his position as has tbagrocks. NigeyS, BoredSaint, Ziplock, Master Q following closely in tow.

As we come down the home straight, we are definitely in for a close one! It's j959, 13Brummy, Tominator, bomberboy0618 all pushing strongly. j959, Tominator, 13Brummy, bomberboy0618. Tominator, 13Brummy, bomberboy0618, j959 has dropped off now. Master Q is coming around the outside now pushing hard, Tominator is trying to hold his lead, but is being pushed by 13Brummy and bomberboy0618...

...

It's Tominator, no! It's 13Brummy...no wait! Bomberboy0618...

It's...

:o :o

A photo finish.

Wow.

What a race.

Spite

"bringing up the rear is Torpedo10, Jukes and Spite."
"Torpedo10, Spite are still lingering at the back"

I was just happy to have made the race! I won a race at the end, so I don't think I came dead last, which is good news!

Thanks c4, was a great day!

Nails

I need to be shot, that's how poorly I performed in the race.

Shoot me now and put me out of my misery.

A big thank you to everyone that entered. It's always great to have so many people enter these competitions, even if it does make things very time consuming! :P

Hopefully, if time permits, I'll look at holding other sweeps throughout the rest of the year and into next year.

Tbag settle down mate I'm not trying to disrespect the horse for coming last or pulling out or whatever, just havin a laugh about the irony in the horses name and where it is listed on the rankings.

As I said, all in jest mate, don't get your knickers in a not big fella!

Placed better than I thought I would at least.

BB67th

Well I dropped off a bit after being up with the top early.....

Great job though C4. Very well run and it made the day a lot of fun.
