Master Q

Extremely unique team. Haven't read your previous posts btw.

Not really a fan of Stringer at that price, obviously NAB cup could change my mind. Ebert - Ward - Fyfe - Moloney, lots of POD of difference there but think you might need to let go of one and use it towards your backline, think it's missing a premium. What are your thoughts on Siposs?

Overall - Unique doesn't mean it's bad. Quite a strong team but room for improvement. Rucks and Forwards look good.

Siposs sucks, don't get him...  :-X

I can see the temptation of starting so many underpriced/potential break through players, but just remember that it is harder to get them right than wrong, and even if you get 1 correct, you might miss 2 and it will ruin your team. Best to get safer choices first and if there is something you desperately want, you can always downgrade a premum mid to them.

Atley is a big risk and I think he is more of a SC. Happy to be proven wrong though.

Ebert for his easy draw? That's all good as long as you upgrade him as soon as his price rises. He won't be a top 8 mid, so make sure you grab a top 8 mid when you can.

Don't understand your thoughts on Ward, can't see him hitting that 110-115, maybe just 105. You have extra $$$ so spend 20k more and grab marc murphy or spend 67k and grab pendles. One less thing to worry about.

Moloney can become embley if he backfires so I'm not too fussed about that pick.

Siposs, good find. Though about having him too but I'm not ballsy enough for 325k. Has an easy draw at first and likes to pop out 100s against easy teams so if he can score 2/3 tons and rise in price so you can trade him to a premium forward, you'll be laughing. But still a risk.

Can't see Mayes scoring well or getting early games. May as well be Maccaffer. Stringer can always become a good performing forward rookie after a few rounds so no harm there.

Personally I see 5 risks, atley, moloney, ward, ebert and siposs which is about 2-3 too many.
I would switch staker to the forward line instead of mayes (dpp link with broughton) and purchase a 108k defender for now (so you can downgrade it to someone like van unen, prudden, maybe stevenson or colquhoun after nab cup)
I would also consider trading stringer out for menzel or for another forward rookie (maybe mcdonough or even maccaffer)
This would leave you with at least 148k to use, enough to upgrade ward to a premium and also enough to upgrade one of atley or siposs to a premium player of their respective position which would eliminate another risk. This would still leave you with moloney, atley/siposs and ebert as POD which is enough to make or break a team.

I don't rate teams very often but I'm happy to do it for someone who tries to make the forum a better place, thanks mate.

Cheers Spite, really appreciate how you broke it down and explained everything with proper reasoning. Through this, I see where you're coming from and because of it, the risk is clear. I probably have overdone it a bit the PODs and whatnot. I'll take the gamble on three like you suggested and ditch Atley, upgrade Ward and apply the other said changes.

Thanks for such an in-depth breakdown of my team. Very much appreciated, especially in my first proper year of DT. :)

Thanks Qstick! I get ya and along with the feedback from Spite, will use this to edit the team and then post a renewed version.

Once again, slightly updated. Feedback is wanted and welcomed.  :)

You must be very keen on Siposs to have him in there still. Wouldn't mind another premium other than Ebert, but I see the appeal.  ;)

I'm all over Siposs, I think he's due to become a star, especially if he does take over the Goddard role. Ebert's more or less my unique, separates me from the herd a little. I think he could be a solid pick.

Windigo

Fair enough.  8)

Only thing on Ebert is that IMO he will only be the 100-105 a game scorer like Judd. And not be an uber premo like Murphy, Redden could be.

I'm aware of this, but I'm hoping he can stand alongside Murphy and Redden when they become super premos.  :)

Mr.Craig

I like it Nigey. :) However, I agree with Windi about Ebert.

Thumbs up for the Siposs pick. Moloney will hopefully score alright and put on a good 130k-150k.

Sincerely hoping Ebert proves you guys wrong. :P

Finall someone who likes the Siposs pick!  ::)

Thanks Craig!

Okay. So I made a few changes.

Moloney -> Embley
Cox -> Robbo
Siposs -> Sylvia
Varcoe -> Byrnes

Basically swapped half my forward line.
