Mr.Craig

I was like "Where's Lecca???" but he was hiding on your bench. ;D

That looks to be structered better and you've got a bit of cash to be flexible with the rookies and to get Rocky in the fwds if that happens.

When I went to pick it, I only had 8 forwards and was wondering who I left out, then I'm like "Got him, and him, and him...wait where's Lecca?!" So I had to go back and add him.

looking a lot better Nigey! Only thing I can suggest, and you don't have to do this if you don't want, but:

Mid rookies are often the highest scoring (more so than forwards). Because of this, I'd be more inclined to start either 4 mid premos and 2 rooks or 3 mid premos, 1 mid pricer, and two rooks, rather than only starting one rookie in the mids and two in the fwds. So in my team I have left out Ball (and have Macrae/Crouch instead), and that would probably leave you enough money to go Clay Cameron -> Dusty or another fwd premo. Not sure if you'd want to do this, but I think you get more value for your money that way :)

Thanks for the tip, Toga! I'll look into it and play around a little. Obviously it's still early days and I'll know a bit more as the draft/preseason goes along.

no worries :)

yeah i think i'll just wait a bit longer before updating my team again, its hard using fanplanner when there might be other players with DPP (Rocky, Broughton, Hartlett) that m0nty hasn't listed as DPP.

plus by then we'll know more about the rookies after the draft!

but you have a good basis for a team there :)

Looks good Nigey, not really anything to fault.

I understand that there will be many of these, and that people will be doing their own, but this is my first attempt for the year with DT actually open as opposed to the ones I've been doing in FanPlanner.

DEF: I'm very happy this this backline, maybe even more so than my Supercoach one. Goodes is the only issue because he has to be elevated.Terlich should play so that's no issue. Staker and Pittard both coming back from injuries doesn't faze me. Think they should both be fine and score well, they are both in their teams best 22s. Been hearing good things about Atley and how he's poised to have a good season.

MID: Got the two must haves but gone a bit unique after that with Ebert and Ward, a gamble worth taking in my opinion, especially if it pays off. Fyfe there too, should do good things as long as his shoulder doesn't trouble him. I like the pick of Moloney, he'll slot nice into Lions' midfield and I'm happy to have him. The rookies are fine as far as I'm concerned, pretty standard with O'Meara/Viney/Crouch and Lonergan doesn't seem to be getting too much love so he could be a unique rookie I guess?

RUC: Standard and identical to my Supercoach one, set and forget in my opinion.

FWD: I like the look of it, but it may be a little weak. The Buddy/Cox/Rockliff trio is set to stay unless something drastic makes me change it. I've been hearing Siposs could take over Goddard's role in the Saints' squad and I think he can average a nice enough score to warrant a spot in my side. Again, Varcoe and Macaffer are the 'comeback kids' and should be fine. Slightly more iffy on Macaffer but I think he's a part of the Pies best 22. Lee is a good forward and so is Stringer and both should feature well enough to gather decent scores and cash on my bench

Overall: I'm almost happier with this squad than my SC one, maybe because of a few unique picks and gambles. The NAB Cup is likely to affect the way this squad looks but I really like this first attempt, especially as someone who is pretty much on their first attempt at Dreamteam, or should I say AFL Fantasy?

Once again, thoughts anyone? Constructive criticism is very much appreciated.

Backs:

Solid. Not keen on Atley at his awkward price, if your taking the punt on him you'd have to be confident he'd go 80+. Seeing as he has only gone 80+ in a game once in his career doesn't strike me with much confidence see how he goes in NAB. I'd prefer just the 3 expensive back players, Broughton is value if he can get his form back from a year or two ago.

MIDS:

Hm, maybe one or two many risky unique options. I'd keep Fyfe and out Ward to Murphy & maybe Ebert to Pendles if you can? Moloney is an interesting to one...Keep him around, he could prove to be a real find this year at Brisbane. Rookies all solid at this stage 8)

As for the rucks I wouldn't mind some solid cover, like Gorringe or Hall.  ???

FWDS:

Rock solid to 3, maybe Franklin from the start isn't the go this year. I'd go him to Stevie J or Mitch Robbo. Then use the cash elsewhere, on a ruck benchi perhaps? Dunno about Sipposs, I'd got for Byrnes or Knights over him. Frees up cash.

I'm backing in Atley, if he fails me, he'll get the boot via trade. Broughton should turn over a new leaf at Gold Coast, he'll be better now that he's not under the wrath of Ross the Boss.

I'm keen to trial Ward and Ebert, while I'd like someone like Murphy, Cotch or Pendles, I think Ebert/Ward combo could work in my favour.

Gorringe or Hall? No thanks. I feel like I have more confidence in either of one my two bench options at the moment than the Gold Coast ruck stocks.

People are talking about not starting Buddy and it's creeping into my mind that maybe he's not worth starting. Will maybe offload him and see what I can do. Think Siposs will be a St Kilda regular from now on and prefer him to Byrnes (not sold on him at all) and Knights (As a Richmond supporter, I hope he does well but I'm not so sure how he'll feature for the Tiges). I think keep tabs on Byrnes and Knights during the NAB Cup.

Cheers Windi.  :)

No worries.

At least Gorringe will be guaranteed games in 2013 I'd think.

Byrnes will be a regular for the Dees and he should net some healthy points given his past years.

Zac Smith, Gorringe and Hall though? Also, I just can't see GC ruckmen racking up points. Maybe it's just me haha.

Looking at Byrnes' stats, I see what you mean, maybe I will make the switch, but that still won't be until post-NAB Cup unless given another reason like injury.

I already gave him my suggestions over chat so I'll just get the post and ratings

Thanks Jukesy, I'll play around with the side and apply the changes and see how it looks.
