Could see Clarke up to 4... Watson is out half the time so Hughes/Khawaja could be at 3

Justin Bieber

Watson needs to open. However, Warner and Cowen probably need to more. Well Hughes needs to open tooo....

Klinger deserved a cap 2-3 years ago. Not now unfortunately. Don't think Forgo is up to the task either

Pick one of Doolan,  Khawaja or Hughes and stick with them.

I see Hilf struggling to get a spot with Siddsy locked in and Starc + MJ unlikely to be dropped

When you start selecting bowlers on their batting ability (except one AR)

It becomes a very slippery slope. If you choose lesser bowlers who can bat, the bowlers will cost your team more runs per innings and you'll NEED their batting skills.

However if you just select the best bowlers, you can bowl the sides out for less, therefore requiring your own team to score less runs, therefore also taking up less time in the test in turn making wins more likely and draws less likely.

Starc's batting should have nothing to do with it. He took a 6-wicket haul, surely can't be dropped...

Yeh this is the reason why I would be picking him, his batting ability is just a bonus. Will be interesting to see who gets the last seamer role between Johnson and Hilfenhaus though, I have a feeling it will be Johnson......

Basically Nails said. Selecting the best bowlers will get teams out for less. Thanks captain ::)

ok throwing my 2 cents in about the bowling. Lyon is the only safe one at the moment and i think Hilfy wont be back for a while if at all. Siddle will come back in and Hastings, Starc and Johnson battle for the last 2 spots.

My team to face Sri Lanka will be

Warner
Cowan
Watson
Clarke
Doolan (give him a chance)
Hussey
Wade
Siddle
Hastings
Johnson
Starc
Lyon

I know that Hilf had a couple of bad games, but how good was he last summer? I think if he went off and did a bit of work with Craig McDermott for a little while, he could find himself back in the team for when we go to India in a few months.

Just noticed that Steyn is playing with Brisbane in the BBL, when did he sign with them??

It's a one-game thing, Faf Du Plessis is doing the same for the Renegades.
