Have a great day to all that are there, who said test cricket is boring hey, i think the way the Aussies go about it with run rates etc makes the game so entertaining and more often than not sets the test up for a result rather than a draw which is what we all want from test cricket really, a result. Win loose or draw i like how the Aussies go about it. ;D

Unlucky Clarkey, oooohhh its getting very interesting now. Isnt enough runs yet and weve just lost our gun hope. Love test cricket.
Your up your down then your up again, a session can change the whole dynamic of the game.

I like this comment, as I also don't think it's enough runs yet but the history books say they are safe by 100 runs. :-\

So do we think 390 will be enough to win? Just concerned with no Patto bowling :(

I am hoping we can get to 400 by lunch

Cheers SS (SS was a good bat i had one lol) yeh your probably right mate regarding history but being the woose i am i dont want to be sitting infront of the TV for the next day and a half worrying myself to death lol. Would like to be 450+ infront at tea or just after and wack them in and hopefully get Petersen and Smith before close of play. Dont want much do i. :o

As SS said history would suggest it is but without Paterson i think 450+ is warranted to be sure to be sure. The top 3 or 4 in the SA batting line up are capable of big scores even on a fourth fifth day pitch, when we are down a bowler its even more relevent.

368 lead at lunch, 4 sessions should be enough to bowl out South Africa whilst giving them enough time to tempt them to go for the win themselves.

After lunch 45 minutes of sticking around, and if they are still 7 down then go for a slog and try to get a 450+ lead before tea then declare. (That's how i say Australia should go about things)

Have to try and score pretty quickly now, the Aussies

Yep plus one SS, you should be a skipper mate, gotta leave them room to believe they can win it. We need to declare at Tea i agree.

I reckon its enough, just, but the South Africans will certainly go down fighting, Smith is a 4th innings specialist, get him out cheaply and weve got it. If not records are made to be broken

Early declaration.

Yep. He's still a knob
Got Amla and Smith before tea.

I'd say it was a good call. :P

A couple of things i was thinking before South Africa's chase began:
They need to see this as 4 blocks, Stumps day 4, then the 3 sessions tomorrow, and det goals for each of those sessions (100/1 at stumps is what they should aim at)
Don't lose wickets today, if it means they score at 2 per over then so be it, survive until tomorrow as the runs will come more freely and the longer they bat the more nervous Australia will get.

It didn't happen though, Smith and Amla out. :o These two need to survive until Stumps now.

Alviro Petersen is quickly becoming one of my favourite batsman. I really like the way he plays, little backswing and nice timing.

If Cummins and Patto are going to miss Perth, where 4 seamers are usually played, who else will come in assuming that Starc is the first? :-\ Or will they play Lyon and Watson as the 4th seamer.

I doubt they'd want Watson as our 4th seamer, probably want to give him as few overs as possible to try and minimise the injury risk. :-\

I don't think they'll drop Lyon, they picked him in Brisbane on a seamers wicket and I wouldn't be surprised to see them do it again. Pattinson looked to be moving pretty freely when he was batting, so we know what those scans from Yesterday showed? Might not be as serious as we first thought. :-\

If he's not ready in comes Starcy I guess.
