ANOTHER WICKET OFF A NO-BALL! WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN?!?!?!

colmullet

anyone who takes a wicket off a no-ball should be immediately dropped for the next test....its so easily avoidable!!

Sorry Chelsk, I think you're a top notch member on this forum...

But saying a century inflates an average is stupid (IMO)

Ponting's 50 average is inflated by all his centuries and Glenn McGrath's bowling average looks better because of all the 5WI he has got...

Stupid to say, they got them. Warner's 180 increases his average just like a duck/under 15 score does. You have to count them all. An average is just that, you just can't take out the best scores.

But when he's only played 16 innings (mind you he's only been given out 14 times) a 180 inflates his score exponentially.

Without it, I calculate he averages about 30 runs per innings.

His shots that he edges to slip just shows that he still has a lot to learn about test cricket. He doesn't understand which balls to leave alone and which to play at.

He can't simply rest on the laurels of 2 good centuries when really he has done close to little else. All Warner had been doing up to this point is champions league cricket stuff, there was no real preparation for what you'd expect against the top team in SA.

Give me an opener who doesn't fall for the same shot every time.

Do you even know what the word exponentially means?

Ponting should be dropped, not Warner.

He also has a half ton and is doing just fine....

54 average in last 6.5 tests....

We let players like Hayden go more innings without scoring a century before they get dropped (yes they're proven blah blah) but Warner has scored 2 in a time period when blokes like Hayden have scored none and still been kept in the side.

You can't compare the situation of Hayden to this battle of Ponting vs. Warner.

Ponting has scored more runs recently

Ponting has more experience. He's similar to a 2nd captain in fact in a side with players like Warner, Cowan, Wade, Pattinson, Lyon who don't have much test experience at all.

Ponting is probably the better fielder.

Ponting was one of the reasons Australians go to tests. Warner is the reason people go to 20/20s

Toga

Warner is like the best fielder in the Aussie team!? ???

Oops, my last 6 test match average is incorrect, I got the matches back to front.

Ponting vs. West Indies - 6 innings all dismissed - 146 runs

Warner vs. West Indies - 6 innings all dismissed - 171 runs.

You're only as good as your last test series.

And once you factor in the first innings... Warner is running away with it.

Can someone please explain to me why Hilfy is bowling around the wicket to Amla taking out LBW as any sort of possibility when we should be maximising the chances of taking a wicket? Especially when the guy is a natural swing bowler normally

I have no idea, there's no way he could get him LBW bowling like that... Must be some reason behind it...?
