Still don't think Warner should be opening for Australia.

I'm willing to give Quiney another chance or two, but the Top order really needs to be fixed/set

That's what I said on another forum.  If Watson comes back open with him and Cowan and then keep Quiney at 3.  Warner is really struggling right now, so I think he should go back to shield cricket and get some confidence back.

Clarke and Huss have pulled us out of a lot of shower in recent times.  I love Huss, probably my favourite player at the moment.

Yeah I love Huss, don't know why he has so many critics ???

Pup is trying to overtake mark waugh as my favourite player ever, never thought anyone would get close.

i think warner is struggling with playing too much cricket in different forms at the moment. Give him a break from the tests and get him in the one day and T20 games for Australia.

Great knocks from Cowan, Clarke and Hussey today. They will declare after Hussey's ton i think

I think we'll get a lead of at least 100 before we declare.

I agree. A lead of 150-odd might give us a slight chance at winning, but tbh I think their batsmen are just too good to get out that quickly.

once again, the pure class of Michael Clarke was on show. i love it. he should just say flower it and get the 400 he deserved in Sydney.

nah, gotta go for the win. remember SA are a batsman down aswell, so anything's possible.

Ever since the India tour I've said that Warner doesn't suit a test cricket lineup.

He fits a similar role to Gilchrist in 20/20 and ODI formats which makes him ideal for those I understand. He's also a good fielder for those formats.

What role does he play in Test cricket? A Sehwag style player is really rare to come across that will actually be effective on a consistent basis.

What does he do when Australia are playing for a draw? I wouldn't call him quite a one-dimensional player but he certainly struggles to fit both roles. He just hasn't performed in high pressure situations.

The best thing Pup ever did was get rid of that flowering dog Bingle, since then he has been amazing with his batting and leadership

Cowan's innings was brilliant aswell. what a time for his maiden ton. Congratulations mate

His defence is pretty awful.  Obviously he's an attack minded player, but he needs to learn how to play defensive shots properly.  He gets squared up far too often.  If he's in the zone he's amazing to watch, but when things get a bit tough for him it's when he gets out not long after.  Watson is just as attacking as Warner, but at least Watto has a solid defensive technique.  It's why I think we should open with Watson and Cowan for the next test and have Quiney at 3 as I was impressed with how he went about things, and he looks to have some nice footwork too, which is something Warner also lacks.

if it wasn't for Cowan we could've been bowled out for sub-200... Clarke needed a reliable partner up the other end in order to get going and Cowan did exactly that, also allowed Hussey to come in and go in for the kill with Clarke at the end and the pressure was much less

At 3/40 who would've thought we'd scored another 450 for just one wicket
