Why drop Hilfy? Probably the best thing we have in Australia in terms of a swing bowler, Siddle and Patto are carbon copys in the way they bowl, its making it easier for the south Africans, I would actually drop Siddle and bring in Starc, look at the VERY successful South African bowler lineup for example, none of them are the same, Morkel has steepling bounce, Steyn very quick and swings it, and Philanders ability to move the ball both ways at will. IMO my lineup for the next test.

E. Cowan
R. Quiney
M. Clarke (WHERE HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE BATTING!)
S. Watson
R. Ponting
M. Hussey
M. Wade
J. Pattinson
N. Lyon
B. Hilfenhaus
M. Starc

You know why an allrounder wasnt brought in for Watson not Quiney? Because Watson doesnt want to feel threatened by an  allrounder, its why guys like Dan Christian and Glenn Maxwell havent gotten gigs in the last year, hes a very selfish cricketer.

Lol yea that's right Watson's insecurities are definitely on the selectors mind. ::)

As vice captain they would be.

Haven't seen Maxwell play so cant comment on him but Christians technique would not stand up to test cricket. For an all rounder to be picked in the Australian squad he needs to be able to make the team either as a batsmen or as a bowler alone.

Hmm True, but would Watson get there just as a bowler though?

Yes his ODI record isnt crash hot, but its kinda hard when youre a batting allrounder batting at 9 in an ODI! ::)

Not saying Chrisso is better than Watto though.

I really think the team needs to be looking at the up coming Ashies next year, but also we need to beat SA, so pick the best team for the next two Tests then look to the Ashies for the next series

I don't think that the team will really change too much between now and the next Ashes. I think the big changes in the team will come after next summer after the 2 Ashes series are done.

QuoteI think Quiney deserves another Test.

My 2nd Test Team:
D.Warner
E.Cowan
S.Watson
R.Quiney
M.Clarke
M.Hussey
M.Wade
J.Pattinson
M.Starc
P.Siddle
N.Lyon

Hate Lyon though but we need a spinner. Surely there's someone better in this country?
Also Ponting hardly deserves to play after a duck.

I agree with Maca, this is how the squad should look going into the next. Not sure who could replace Lyon as spinner, maybe O'Keefe. Should get Krejza  ::) Seriously though, Ponting should go and let Watson in. Quiney and Warner both deserve to keep their spots for at least another test. I'm not a Starc fan, but he's probably the better option as opposed to Hilfy.

I 100% agree with Maca's lineup. You have cic's level of cricket knowledge if you think otherwise.

Watch those personal attacks please Nails.

Nails

Moises Henriques anyone?

Good for the future and his last two Domestic First Class matches

vs. Tasmania - 161*, 0/20, 50*, 3/41

vs. NSW - 2/20, 78, 2/26

He's in the form to get a call up :X

2 good matches isn't going to get you a call up to the test team  ::)

Hey Nails, Pretty sure if you play for NSW you cant play against NSW.  ::)

Also not only has his last 2 Domestic First Class matches been ok, he was a star in the Champions League T20

JBs-Hawks

And T20 means nothing for test cricket....

In fact it was what went against starc for the first test.
