Pet Rock Squad Fanplanner squad in the Dream Team competition coached by Nigey95. Salary cap left: $2,500.

Brendon Goddard, Jack Grimes, Bryce Gibbs, Pearce Hanley, Nathan Bock, Cameron Pedersen, Lachlan Plowman
Sam Colquhoun, Tanner Smith

Dane Swan, Gary Ablett jnr, Matthew Boyd, Patrick Dangerfield, Angus Monfries, Oliver Wines
Jaeger O'Meara, Jack Viney

Nic Naitanui, Matthew Leuenberger
Majak Daw, Jarrod Witts

Lance Franklin, Matthew Pavlich, Harley Bennell, Chris Knights, Robbie Gray, Mark LeCras, Jake Stringer
Clay Cameron, Tim Membrey

First time DTer. Thoughts/opinions?

Defence: Solid can't fault that right now, Would have to wait and see with the Pederson pick depending on what role Neeld has in store for him as he won't survive as the clubs back up ruck man come forward

Mids: Better options than Monfires with the M/F DPP Monfries doesn't score a lot of 100s and won't raise a lot in price. Rookies and premiums are fine.

Rucks: Standard Naitanui to take his game to a new level

Forwards: Bennell may be more suited for Supercoach but still is a good pick in DT, Can see Knights having a good year, Don't like the selection of Gray may not get back to them good scores until half way through the season but will continue to make money along the way, Cameron may struggle for game time might not score high as well.

Final Say: Apart from being picky about some selections i do like your team, Could possible have 16 keepers which is good. 8/10

Pet Rock Squad Fanplanner squad in the Dream Team competition coached by Nigey95. Salary cap left: $161,800.

Brendon Goddard, Jack Grimes, Bryce Gibbs, Pearce Hanley, Thomas Murphy, Cameron Pedersen, Tom Clurey
Sam Colquhoun, Tanner Smith

Dane Swan, Gary Ablett jnr, Trent Cotchin, Marc Murphy, Luke Ball, Oliver Wines

Lance Franklin, Matthew Pavlich, Harley Bennell, David Zaharakis, Jake Stringer, Brent Staker, Clay Cameron
Tim Membrey, Mark LeCras

The updated version.

Defence: Murphy will have the same input as Warnock did in his first year at GC will get game time however but his scores won't be justifiable with his price.

Mids: More solid midfield than the first draft i like it

Rucks: Standard

Forwards: Risking a lot here Staker coming back from 2 knee reconstructions may take a while to get match fitness back DPP will be vital though, Cameron fighting with a few others for the 2 key position roles up forward, I believe Stringer would of gone pick 2 if he didn't break his leg.

Final Say: I actually like your first team a bit better forwards may need a bit of work 7.5/10

Defence: Look for Demspter to have more of a lock down role with less freedom now that Goddard has left could average the same though, Rance should improve with taking the 2nd or even 3rd best forward at stages, Might need another premium down there if you want to keep it the same all season.

Mids: The Stanton debate could go on for weeks may find some consistency with the recruitment of Goddard a 110-115 season average isn't impossible for Stants. Gone 5 premiums which is different than most can't fault that though.

Rucks: Goldy/Leuey combo is standard

Forward: All 4 forwards here suffered severe injuries at times this season, Playing 3 rookies in the forwards may be disastrous in past seasons though there are good forwards in this years draft which could pay off.

Final Say: Hard to give a rating without the rookies but those will come later during the nab cup, Not a huge fan with the defence and forward combos you have. 7/10

Sam Rowe f/r, Brent Staker b/f

Salary cap remaining .......$214,400

Defence: Like the pick of Duffield should get back to his 2010/11 best, Will Lake be able to play like he did at Bulldogs with the freedom, Should relish in the Hawks defence with the running game style.

Mids: Good midfield the Ball/Embley combo seems to be quite a popular choice and quite right so, Crouch fighting for a spot in the crows midfield has already been in the system for a year body ahead of a few guys already.

Rucks: Standard

Forwards: Different forward line than most, Rocky should average 100+ Roughead and Cloke should have nice averages hard to tell with Broughtan, Gray will be a slow starter but once he gets going will give you some nice returns and LeCras will be the pick of the bunch. Hopefully Rowe can come back from his unfortunate case of cancer and get back to his best.

Final Say: Have done really well to make that team and have that much amount of cash left over which will be useful for an early upgrade or two. 8/10

Thanks for the review Noz, much appreciated mate.

l'd like to think that the team will line up like this, but just cant see it happening really......l think players like Ball, Embley, Lecras, Gray and maybe even Menzel will probably be starting at higher prices than are listed on fanplanner at the moment.

l'll just go through some of my thinking with some of my picks.....

Backs:

Lake.....he should fit in nicely with Hawthorns possession style of play out of defence, and will revell in having players like Birch and Suckling to play kick to kick with

Pederson.....he was recruited for a reason and if he does well in pre-season could well end-up a 22 game player

* and l like both for their f/b status and the flexibility it'll give with Broughton and Staker in the Fwd line. Broughton will end-up being swung back into defence later in the season, and either Staker or Pederson could be a D7 keeper if they play well enough (and if not will be upgraded to Birchall, Scotland, Waters etc.)

Mids:

Dont need to explain anything there.....but Viney could end up being changed to another of the many excellent prospects from the draft

Rucks:

Cookie Cutter, but good value and should do well......but Grundy is still on the radar

Fwds:

Have explained the thinking behind Broughts and Staker.
Robbie Gray, hmmm well pre-season will have a big say there, but if he starts in good form he'll be in.
Roughead, for his r/f flexibility and the fact that he holds his position on scoring alone.
Sam Rowe is there for the r/f flexibility and because of Malthouse's liking for a forward who can swing into the ruck.....again pre-season will tell the story there. But if that doesnt pan out l'll look at available rookies or might even include Varcoe for his excellent value. l know its alot of money to be sitting on the bench but it could pay off bigtime when upgrading, he'd be put on the ground and the new rookie'd be straight to the bench.

So there it is.....my thinking behind alot of my selections

Noz

The only problem with Rowe is he is behind Kruezer, Warnock and Hampson who can all play that R/F role you may find it difficult to get games out of him in this case. However if you are set on Rowe perhaps putting him on the ruck bench may be better from
A strategic point. His DPP status can go well with a Daniher.

he'd need to play well in pre-season and be named rnd 1 for me to have him in my team, which is pretty unlikely in the grand scheme of things.....but l already have Daniher and Roughead for f/r flexibility anyway.......so l'd be looking at a player who l think'll get games and make some money if it didnt happen

Defence: Like the selection of Heppell and Hanley i reckon they can repeat there 2012 output and perhaps go a bit further, Duffield in for a good year and Gibbs to be one of the best players in 2013 (My opinion) Rookie picks are sound.

Mids: Solid Swan may drop of a bit but still a reliable pick

Rucks: Stock standard

Forward: Selection of Lewis and Robinson are interesting, Expect a similar output from Lewis and who knows how far Robinson can go under Mick, Mayes should get game time if drafted to Port. Cameron may struggle for opportunities

Final Say: I actually like your team not to much to pick apart from omission of Franklin is interesting but still a good team 8/10

Backs: Like the selection of Golby with the retirement of Drummond Golby will require to have more and more responsibilities next year in DT points. Morris won't ever get back to his best but he was never a huge DT scorer better options out there i reckon.

Mids: Gaff to take his game to a new level whether he can become a keeper is another thing, Ball one of the picks of the year and rookies are solid

Rucks: H Mac set to get back to his best at the cattery if he can stay injury free, Other picks are justifiable

Forward: Don't like the selection of Waite has only played 1 full season and 47 games in 4 years i wouldn't trust myself picking him.  Lee will get game time probably not enough to be justifiable as a rookie pick, Cloke to bounce back to his best

Final Say: Some unique picks Waite stands out the most there are better options then Waite though overall i would give this team a 6/10

Defence: Hopefully Watts can have a good season and get some of the critics of his back, Other picks are good

Mids: The selections of Duncan and Varcoe are unique no doubt especially starting Varcoe on the field i reckon move him to the forward line if your that down for starting him.

Rucks: Will Graham hinder Maric's DT output? Unlikely look for a similar output maybe dropping a few points

Forwards: Don't like Johnson for DT next season, Gray has a setback to the 2013 season after injuring his calf, Treloar to be one of the best giants next season. Lecras the pick up of the season.

Final Say: Unique picking don't like Varcoe in the mids some good picks however 7/10
