Smashed my first exam today, definitely 70+ if not 80 - too bad it was in the one I needed 9% to pass the unit and not 70 :/

Was the old here's six questions answer five of them, knew exactly what to write for four of them and bluffed the last one (shower about intellectual property, didn't study it but I have some knowledge about it).

Well, today was my last exam unless I stuffed one up enough to get a supp, or I did too well in one to get a supp (In other words I am fairly sure I've just failed the subject) :P

Failed that subject can confirm. Just waiting on one more result now which is the one I'm unsure whether I did well enough or not :-\

I have to wait until December 12th for my results! Have one subject that will be very touch and go (needed 70% in the exam to pass and I think I did reasonably well), and I leave to go on holiday on the 18th so not a very big window for a supp :X

Only 1152 minutes left in classes for the calendar year, almost there  :P

Finally got my results back: 76, 67, 61...37

Need a 70 to pass the exam and got a 40 ;-; hopefully can get a different unit substituted in for it to do next year because I don't want to do that shower unit again (shower content shower lecturer who didn't teach me anything, literally). Gotta do 3 units in my fourth year, hopefully can pass each of them so I can graduate.

Happy I managed a 68 in the final, 50 million word (or so) assignment for the biggest unit for the course tho! Especially with a notoriously harsh-marking lecturer.

Really pissed off. School was going to do Mary Poppins for the musical this year and it was going to be awesome. For the last 50 years every 2nd year the school has done a musical, and 9/10 times do really really good shows. But AFTER all the auditions have been done they decide to postpone it to next year, because there's apparently nowhere to perform the musical (civic theatre was nocked down last year and is reopening next year). They might let us be in it next year, but it will be really weird being in a school musical after we've graduated, and half the year level won't be in town next year.

And to make things worse, they're going to be auditioning people for next year this year while us year 12s are still around.

Live in Cairns, Civic theatre's knocked down, convention centre is like 45k for one day and the tanks have screwed us over. We argued we could have done it in the school hall, but principal said it was to hard. This year is our school centenary as well, so it hurts even more.

The latest goss is that the music co-ordinator who has been at the school for like a million years wasn't at the meeting where it was decided it would be called off, but had a phone call with the principal just after that ended in "we'll make a decision on Monday". Within hours we'd been told and it was with in the school newsletter.

How big is the school hall? Would have thought that would have been serviceable.

Even perform outside?

Tbh to me sounds like school politics though rather than an actual reason.

So can't do school hall because we'd have to install tiered seating

Apparently can't do outside in Cairns

It's all school politics. I think its the new principal trying to stamp his authority over the department that basically runs the school.

get a temporary stage installed? Get the woodwork or construction kids to do it as a project :P

So the musicals back on now :o

Word on the street is that the music co-ordinator who's been at the school for like 20-30 years (and controls where all the music teachers in the region work) wasn't in the meeting when they decided to cancel it, so I'm guessing she made some pretty big threats.

Apparently now it can be done in the school hall and it's not all too hard :P Got to love school admin.
