I didn't learn anything in uni and it's all coming back to bite me. I need to do real chemical engineering stuff at work and I've forgotten it all.
Thats how I felt starting university. Couldn't have learnt less at school and now I know some of the stuff I was meant to learn would have helped

To pass the unit for my three exams I need to score:
New Product Development - 9%
Project Management - 5.7%
Business Research Practices - 70%

Uni should let you average out your units so I only need 28% in each tbh

thats a terrible idea so your saying you should just need to average 50 to pass uni?

Always felt uni is too easy and obviously because it makes money but its getting easier and easier so anyone can get a degree with minimal effort.

personally wouldn't mind it raising to 60% for a pass. Its abit crazy if someone can graduate getting barely better then half the answers right.

If i went under 70% then i considered it failing a unit and not knowing enough to have a good grasp on the information. Luckily I only did that once and dont need to know that knowledge.

Anything under 95 is a fail for me, and I'm not even Asian.

LaHug

Anything under 101 is a fail for me because I have a failure complex.

Have you ever got more then 101% from extra credit?

Not in an overall unit but I have in a test before. It was an odd feeling.

It was a joke mate :P having a whole uni average rather than each unit is ridiculous

Scary thing is the way they are dumbing down the universities it wouldn't surprise me.

Reminds me of a quote from the Incredibles.

Employers still look at academic transcripts and all that so the people who do well are still at some advantage, but that advantage would probably be a bit less due to what you're saying

yeah its true to an extent but as an example I intentionally picked difficult units which would actually help me in my career, others picked fluff units which are easy to destroy. they all got hired because when people look they take a 85% average student over a 75% even if you do much tougher units.

Some of the units i could have gone 90%+ but picked units which a 70%+ is tough

Yeah that would present a big issue in some degrees, especially like a commerce or business type. Sucks if the people hiring don't know or care to know the difficulty of units too

Have always said Australia needs a way of differentiating for those who really want to study, for example in commerce half the people have no idea what they want to do and often are there because they dont know what else to do or their parents have made them go.

There should be an Advanced Commerce or Advanced Economics Stream which is much much tougher and obviously more respected. A degree which is actually tough to pass as i think just giving a HD isnt enough.

its why i did an honours as it was bascially that however the 3 years i spent in a bachelor could have easily have been 1.5 to 2.

Just do what I did and use charm and charisma to get a job (I'm just kidding it was one lucky break and everything else just fell into place from there).

Agree same for me one lucky break and everything fell from there.

sad thing is charm doesn't work if you dont get an interview.
