m8 if you can't write 150 words on a weekly reading because 'it's terribly boring' then I'd suggest a change of subjects :P I'm sure there's something else you're more into Nige!

Hey, this is a vent thread after all  :P
Fair :P

Just finished the pack of mid-sem assignments. Bit of a break, next essay due on the 24th that I probably should look at.

Got a pair of H1's (HD's in not retarded Melbourne model terms) for the first few essay's I got back  8)

Nige

Got an essay due this Friday but pretty much nothing apart from the weekly tutorial paper due next week so basically Week 9 should be chill and then it's the mid sem break (after Week 9, ACU pls) during Grand Final week, so more or less two weeks of nothing.  ;D

So yeah, my essay due Friday is for Professional Ethics and I'm required to write an argumentative essay, something I haven't done since high school. The topic should be easy to write on - it's basically just workplace issues/free speech, arguing for that from an ethical viewpoint shouldn't be difficult.

The bit I'm kinda worried about is writing the abstract. I've never actually done (or had to do) one before and so I'm a little nervous. I more or less know what in entails and that it's usually done at the end of the essay/report even though it's the first thing on the paper. Not entirely sure whether I have to do an introduction on top of the abstract since the latter basically contains the contents of the essay condensed into like 150 words (apparently the abstract shouldn't be more than 10% of the paper).

I guess if I have to leave it until the end then there's no point stressing about it.

TL;DR - Breaking my abstract writing virginity and I'm nervous about it.

Abstract writing is the easy part, argumentative essays are generally a pain.

Hellopplz

I rarely do abstracts for essays, mostly lab reports which are easier to structure it for. Indeed it may be similar to your introduction, except you'll also talk about what you conclude as well in here and only main arguments/examples used in here, whereas Introduction more broad.

Well finished off an assignment due Friday now :D. Took longer than expected because it's open ended (rubric they gave is alright) but what they expect from us is pretty much left on us and some things they want us to do to get HD they never even taught. And we have to use a data analysis program and need to know how to run these complicated tests on there to get full marks. Hoping for a Credit here as since it's my last semester at uni altogether, just really can't be stuffed.

With this out of the way, rest of my week/weekend will be seeing to another subject which I consider harder but assignments are more clear haha.

Hahaha, I'm so glad it's coming up. It's been a long 8 weeks (not having my laptop has made it so much worse) and there's still one more to go, but there's basically nothing doing next week so I'll treat it like two weeks off hahaha.

For now, I'm just slaving over this essay for my Professional Ethics class. Starting and finishing it today was not the plan, but it's not actually that hard as it's a persuasive essay which I've always been good at, but I keep have to remember I'm writing this from an ethical viewpoint rather than a HRM based one like I'm used to doing.

Hellopplz

At least you left a day for it Nige ;). I remember a time when I left a night for it, I've learnt from my mistakes as could still get Credits but probably should aim higher haha.

Yeah Monash too have their mid-sem break after Week 9 :(. Lucky besides 1 thing due next week, got nothing else until after the break. But then it's 4 huge things basically in 3 weeks, so I'm hoping to finish one per week at least (hopefully 4 in 3 weeks) to take off the stress. I'm really burnt out for uni in general and have other stuff play on my mind, so kinda have to organise to take some pressure off myself :). Note that you younger guys entering, time management is key in uni!

We have ours after week 9 too I think, although the class I have to go to isn't running next week and I doubt I'll go to my other so basically get it a week early and for two weeks :D got a lot planned for my holidays to do with my two favourite things, girls and sport, so hyped aha

Finished all my assignments that are due until the 12th of next month so all good for now thankfully, and the four assignments I have left are mostly easy - 4000 words between three (two are group things), then a ten-pager :'( followed by a test and two exams

Exam timetable out for me.

I start on Saturday 7th... (Seriously, flower off, a Saturday)
Then TWO on the 12th (Yet again I get two on the same day)
The last one on the 18th

They are all only 2 hours at least.

Oh also, I forgot to mention they are all worth 70%.

My two are the 13th and 18th, which sucks because Fallout 4 comes out on the 10th :/

I should really start on my next assignments, they're due on the 12th, 14th, 23rd, and 23rd and have only started the one due on the 14th.
