Safe to say I'm not looking forward to my exam tomorrow morning haha. Programming in C, Perl, and Shell. At least it's open book, although that could also be a bad thing.

One of my mates goes to Swinburne, had an exam today. Reading time starts, opens exam, it has all the answers. Everyone got answer booklets. Got to leave before reading time even finished hahaha ;D

Do they reschedule the exam in that case?

They're not sure atm. Either reschedule or use marks from other assessment I'd assume (and in the case of those who needed a good exam mark to pass, maybe let them sit an exam?).

NFI. They even had two moderators look at the exams beforehand :P

Haha, from what he said it started with like a group of kids just walking out. Then they were like "Hey woah hey ho woah what's going on here" and then someone told em what was up. And then the exam supervisors started laughing and let them all leave.

And now it's been rescheduled for Friday at 9am.

Anyone good with maths (specifically integrals), that could help me with this issue:

Finding the integral of the following function:
2/(x-2) + 1/(x+1)
of which the result is = 2*ln|2-x| + ln|x+1|

The bit in bold is what I don't get. Why isn't it 'x-2' as when I find the integral of 2/(x-2) i get 2*ln|x-2|

Is it an error? I got x-2 as well for that bit. However, I haven't done integrals in 3 years, so I could be wrong :P

If those are absolute values, then: |x - 2| = |2 - x|

Only way I can understand them getting that answer otherwise same as you guys. Only know the above cause it's in my Maths unit this sem :P.

To add to this (which is correct, btw), the default of graphing calculators (the ones you use in Methods) is to display the pronumeral last in cases like this (for whatever reason - can't think of a logical one). So yeah, you'll probably see it a lot that you get |numeral - pronumeral| instead of |pronumeral - numeral|.

On the plus side, you're doing everything right :D

Yeah I totally did not think to check that.... Cheers guys. Got the Wolfram Alpha app ($3.79 iTunes App Store), which gives you worked solutions which said the same thing.

Exams are 100% donion rings, and pretty sure I passed em all 8)

Now to binge watch some tv shows for 2 weeks haha, then work. No more uni for the rest of the year! :D

I have my last one tomorrow and don't feel prepared at all :(. I hate maths and proofs, haven't really touched any pure maths since VCE :'(.

Probably not the same thing but Vector proofs were a nightmare when I did them last term

Could never remember what to prove unless it was a simple shape like a square or triangle

I think know I failed one today :( But the other one I had was ok, and guess who else does first year Accounting (The one i think I passed) at Adelaide? Ollie Wines. Might explain his form drop over the last two weeks, been too busy thinking about how to prepare an Income Statement ;D
