but I don't really see myself working as an engineer.

Curious, what exactly do you think Engineers do? Not trying to make you feel silly, but coming out of Year 12 I had zero idea when someone asked me that question...except build bridges and even that isn't correct unless you want to build bridges specifically

I know a little bit; I did work experience at an engineering firm where we went through the different branches of engineering, and then went through the different phases of a project and designed our own. My dad's also an engineer so that helps a fair bit (he's told me about the different jobs he's been on)

see, I always knew I didnt want to be an engineer. Then I picked up engineering as a second degree, and despite smashing it found it really boring, so dropped it :P

sometimes you should just trust your gut :P

so many people in my class that are like that! Something that looks like a good career path ends up sucking when you find out that the job actually entails-usually 2-3 into the uni course

yeah, advice to all new uni students/ high schoolers... work out what you want to do early, because if you take like half a decade to figure it out when you're nearly finished your degree you make life very, very difficult for yourself

I went back, it was pretty rough going though... don't regret it for a second, but if you're going into like a science/ engg degree, you better be prepared to back yourself in :P
