wow way to make a big story out of nothing. Anyone with commonsense would've noticed that it was irrelevant. Thankfully we got the message and we got told before I got up to that question, which was pretty easy anyway.

Also it's a good thing because it means the exam will get scaled up more than it normally does. (Boosted ATAR coming up)

Not too bad thanks mate but a lot to remember!

Jesus that's so stupid. There are mistakes on exams all the time, questions that get amended after the exams are sat because they don't fit the design properly. Not printing errors like these, but still, to get special consideration/higher scale for that is laughable.

Also what kind of spastic system is the SACE sitting the specialist and methods exams on the same day, and not having both subjects split into 2 exams. Bloody SA.

SA =/= Vic, let's get that bit right. So In SA the Maths scale runs as follows:
Specialist, Studies, Methods, Applicatinos, Whatever else is worse. You have to do Studies to do Spec, if you do Methods you can't do Specialist, that's why they can be run at the same time.

And according to some teachers, there will be extra scaling (Spec already gets scaled up heaps) because that way less complaints will be sent through when their kids get showerty marks, and they blame the printing error on the exam for the entire thing haha. I'm not too fussed though, I got it, and I shouldn't get a showerty score ;)

Okay, works similarly in Vic (ish). There is no studies (what is even in this) then there is spesh - methods - further. I am guessing further=applications, methods is scaled up decently and is required to do specialist which was the second highest scale up when I did it (latin the highest).
SACE is weird, the 3 different units you take in Vic are extremely distinct and have very clear pathways they lead into for tertiary studies, I am struggling to even comprehend why there is a 4th in SA.

But still, my point stands. The amount of concessions that people request through their VCE/SACE is ridiculous, 5 marks on a 150 mark exam is insignificant and won't make a significant difference in your final study score. As for the argument it could distract from the rest of the exam, you should be so well versed in sitting any exam for all your subjects by the time you sit them that almost nothing could derail you, much less a typing error.

In Vic specialist is bumped by 10+ almost every year (50 max), I'm guessing SA is comparable and that is plenty to compensate for the higher level of kids that take the subject, getting more over 1 error on the exam is laughable.

You'd be surprised how competitive these subjects are. 5 marks can actually be the difference between a really really good score and a good but could have done better score

Re the Studies thing, Methods has no Integration and different work in Matrices, otherwise it's basically the same.

End of year exams are 30% of the final grade, so 1/30 of that 30% is 1% of your overall grade, I guess it's not much haha
