I loved highschool and I knew I'd miss it when I graduated.

That being said, I love where I'm at atm anyway.

albeit, some days I kind of wish I was back :P

I love school, very indifferent about tomorrow. I want to move on, but also really like the structure and organization :( I'M NOT READY FOR THE REAL WORLD

mixed emotions too PB. Going to be weird once I finish! At least I've got my Uni degree already planned though, not doing a gap year

It's funny. People (mostly) hate school their whole lives and are sad when it finishes...

I was in the minority

Yeah, that was and still is me.

I still struggle with the lack of community, structure and organisation.

Funny you should say that, Nige. I've found that university has a much more active community than school but it's entirely what you make of it. If you don't get involved, you're missing out and letting yourself down! In terms of structure and organisation, that's what you're meant to be learning at uni. There's still structure in place but you need to make sure you follow it and are organised yourself. Nobody's gonna chase you up if you let yourself fall behind.

To all the kids going into uni next year, my advice is simply this: Get involved, stay on top of things, have fun!

I do agree, but on the flip side, a lot of the Uni clubs and activities are things that don't interest me and I'm not going to join simply for the hell of it.

Haven't really formed many solid friendships or anything at Uni or anything and I'm really not that interested in doing so to begin with.

I find you grow to love things if there's a community :P

Which is the why I grew to enjoy (wouldn't say love, bit of a stretch haha) high school.

I just don't feel the love or community vibe from anyone at Uni, sure there are some cool people who I've met but it's not the same as high school for me.

Although, I'm fairly sure going to a Catholic all boys school had something to do with all of this.  :P

As a 1st year uni student, would have to say I 100% agree with this! I've absoluted loved the community and the people I met and just the general atmosphere. I've thrown myself into heaps of stuff and made some great friends, been the best year of my life. I enjoyed school too for sure, just love the freedom you get with uni. At school you can't miss class and just go to the bar. I think having a high work ethic has helped me too, I've always been pretty self-motivated in that regard so I'm pretty happy with how I've gone academically too.

:o

I went back to Mazenod today to chat with the counsellor (we're good mates and have a chat every now and then), saw the ol' Mazenod nemesis' bus drive past and turn in to Kernot Ave. You're not one of them are you?  :o :-\
