Like I give a crap about any spelling or grammar of anything anyone ever posts ::) I prefer an attempt at propper English but that's about it, an attempt. Just shows the ignorance of the so called "educated" I guess that we as posters must match your, as the previliged types certain criteria. Well in saying all this I doubt you will as an "so called" educated type, match my IQ ::)

CrowsFan

So what's your IQ then tbag? Have you had it professionally tested or are we just going from free internet tests?

Ziplock and Tbag....
Im smarter, more educated and better looking that both of you so put a cork in it  ::)

As far as the Melbourne tanking investigation goes, I would have thought the AFL would come to a decision before the draft?

yeh cheers guys for ruining another thread with personal attacks on each other.

its a bit harsh that you say that GWS tank when its there first year in the comp and have a lot of young bodies in their lineup. Of course they are going to rest bodies we all knew that

Lets just leave all the tanking issues in the past as its really when you get down to it the AFL's fault. They have put a system in place where there was a carrot for finishing last. Lets be real about it, it doesn't matter which clubs were involved I'm sure every club that was in that situation would hold a meeting and talk about it.

Lets leave the demons alone and carlton for that matter after they won the Kruezer cup years ago.

Chopps

blooding juniors has never been or never will be tanking, clubs need to decide weather to focus short term or long term, not selecting your best 22 may be a short term but a long term gain, however that's different to saying hey boys we should lose this one so we can get picks 1 & 2

Unless this meeting was recorded or has anything in writing, it is still very hard to prove

Grazz

The admision that a meeting on the topic took place could be enough for the AFL to act, how far it can go with a he said she said investigation would be quiet limited unless the admision by 3  Melbourne people Bailey, Predergast and Mahoney contains conclusive evidence that they not only discussed it but implemented the strategies to achieve it, then the AFL may have a stronger case against the Dee's. 2008 it was a race for bottom spot between West Coast and the Dee,s as i remember it and in other seasons it was often a race for the bottom so to single out one team knowing full well others were actively trying to do the same would be a bit unfair. We all knew what was going on so would of the AFL but knowing and proving is another thing.

I think the AFL by offering priority picks (incentives) created a can of worms they didnt expect and by offering them someone was always going to except the offer. I personally dislike the idea of tanking and all it represents as it does nothing for the comp but  drag it down and in a sense it is draft tampering as the side that finishes 15th 14th or 13th is really tha legitimate team deserving of the priority picks like Fremantle for example who were down there when the Dee's and WC finished 16th &15th in 08 and in 09 the Dee's and Richmond or was it WC and Richmond that were dudded it all depends how you view what went on those years. Im glad priority picks (Incentives) arent part of it anymore and thats enough for me, might not be for other supporters who feel they were dudded out of those picks and thats fair enough, they have a right to feel more agrieved but for mine id be happy to just move on now priority picks are no longer available.

If the tanking allegations are true then as a Richmond supporter im actually thrilled about it.

Wewll siad Grazz and agree.

Only thing I will add though as if the allegation under investigation is proved without doubt then Melbourne should face some penalty.  I am also pleased to see the priority picks go but it may not stop teams trying to finish last to gain the prized No 1 pick.

Grazz

Thats highly likely Ringo but atleast the cost of finishing bottom becomes alot more expensive by being less rewarding.
Cant see how you can stop it ever happening again but im happy the rewards are not as lucrative.

I'm sick of this already. This is just a pointless argument on the internet, that came from frustration of having to constantly listen to your biased bullshower that you constantly post.

if they're found of tanking, take their first round picks from them for this year and next year, and leave it at that. If they'd actually gotten players of quality though, that'd be a different matter :P

Grazz

Wish you guys could do it without abusing the crap out of each other. Ding Ding end of round 15 and its a split decision. Draw moving on. ;)

Forgot to mention this:

UPDATE

A SECOND player of Melbourne's 2009 wooden spoon-winning team has come forward, backing up claims that Melbourne deliberately lost games in order to secure a priority pick.

The player who at this stage is unknown has admitted that Dean Bailey was under fierce pressure to lose games.

He also added that players were purposely rested or withdrawn from games, or made to play positions they would otherwise never play.

The player spoke yesterday as league investigators close in on officials at the demons "vault".

If proven, the demons will be facing severe penalties including fines and loss of their first three selections in this years draft and for the following two
