I know we are all sick and tired of the Kurt Tippett saga but just a thought.......
There have been talks that he could get delisted from adelaide and deregistered by the AFL meaning he could then only get picked up in the national draft (correct me if I'm wrong)
Does this mean that he could be rookie priced if he gets taken in the draft?? Doubt champion data would do it :(

Capper

if he gets de-listed he will probably miss a year imo  but i dont think he will be rookie priced

PowerBug

Players get priced based on their previous season's performance, so he wouldn't be rookie priced even if listed as a rookie. Remember Mitch Hahn? He was on the Bulldogs rookie list (can't remember when) but was priced at 300k coz he played last season. :)

If Tippett doesn't play in 2013 but does in 2014 then he'll be priced as a rookie. :)

Fairly sure there would just be a 50% discount for not playing a season.

Mailman the 2nd

He'd get discounted but I doubt they'd put him at rookie price

Ziplock

players get priced at their average, whether his drafted in the rookie or not doesn't matter- he won't get a discount with the amount of games he played.

if he gets deregistered for a year he'll be priced at a 50% discount

TeeJay

He wont be derigisted for a year. No way known.
He will miss 6 games maximum from this

The penalty will either be severe or none at all.

I think he will be de registered and made to enter via Nat draft so cant name his salary

This would be the likeliest outcome for him i think but trying to guess what the AFL will do is a bit of a lottery sometimes, maybe a fine aswell.

if he enters the nat draft... who do we think will take him?

giants have said we're interested, and it's possible we might take him... that being said, I doubt we will- we know we wont be able to hold him, and one of those top 3 picks would be better off used elsewhere. Melb, WBD, port are likewise going to have the same thought pattern. I'm thinking the lions are going to get him, if not them, richmond would probs take him, and if that them, carlton will definitely take him.

if richmond grab him, I'd tip them for top 4 finish with a favourable draw.

if carlton grab him they could probs shoot for the premiership...

I would be ridiculously happy if we got Kurtley ::) but at the same time, we have Ty Vickery and Benny Griffiths that are of similar size and positional status to him, so idk if we would take the punt on him (especially because we wouldn't know if he would want to stay or not)

My guess is probably Brisbane as well... GWS don't need him with Cameron and Patton there...

^ that being said, there is no way I'd say no to getting Kurt at Richmond :P

Grazz

I think he'll get through to Sydney, other clubs are generally reluctant lately to take a player that wants to be somewhere else ala Luke Ball at pick 30 going to the Pies. Wether this will be the norm for Kurt remains to be seen but there is a chance he'll get through to Sydney based on others reluctance.

Dudge

I think if he were to go to a club where he really doesn't want to be ( similar to the crows towards the end ), then that team is a massive risk to lose him come next contract. Surely that gives him a chance to get through to Sydney, which would seem a tad unfair i suppose
