TOM GILLIES is set to nominate for the NAB AFL Draft after being told that Geelong will delist him in the coming days.

He's going to be delisted," Gillies' manager Tim Hazell told AFL.com.au.

"We're going to let the dust settle from the trade period.

"Then we'll see what comes over the next couple of weeks in regards to hopefully getting picked up in the national draft."

Under the new free agency rules, all delisted players become free agents.

So there is a small chance that a club might decide to sign Gillies before the NAB AFL Draft, which will be held on the Gold Coast on November 22.

I think giants will try to sign him as an unrestricted delisted free agent.

I think the writing was on the wall as soon as they signed Rivers, although with River's injuries i thought that Gillies would be more reliable. GWS will pick him up in R4 or maybe even GC imo

Will definitely get picked up. As Zip said the Giants will be after him and I reckon the Saints will be too

Ziplock

we might even pick up big 0 while waiting for someone like grundy to develop

You could do a lot worse than Orren. I would have kept him. He's good.

You would think Gillies will find a new home. The Cats did rate him, and quite highly. I'd be surprised if he didn't find his way on to some team's list.

Gillies has been picked up by Melbourne on a one year deal.
Great pick up for Melbourne. Should help to fill the hole that Rivers left.
