we are getting alot of picks that we probably wont use grrrrrrr

47, 66, 72 (72 was sent to Hawks with Spangher in return for 66)

we are making alot of room for something but what??

5 delisted, TDL, Spangher and Cambo traded

stew42

The last time Sydney did not bring a player in during the trade period was back in 2003. What are we doing?!?!?!?!

Capper

although
2004 top 8
2005 GF winner
2006 GF runner up!!

Mailman the 2nd

I think we can get someone better than TDL in this draft.

In hindsight he wasn't really what we needed

stew42

Yeah, we don't need small crumbing forwards, we have Malceski for that! Still can't get over it... :o ???

Mailman the 2nd

Apparently this is being tipped as the super draft? (I have no actual knowledge)

Might not be so bad

I think you need to look deeper into this and it is probably a lot of pushing from the players who have now left to be traded also. Heath and Spangher were a long way from a recall and TDL hasnt performed well enough to hold his spot. He would now be behind Mcglynn, Rohan, Jetta, Morton for the forward role.
Played under Scottie Watters at Subi and may do well, but it isnt like the saints need to many small forwards like him...

Too true. Thought he was the goods when he kicked 13 goals (I think) in 4 games at the back end of 2010 but he just hasn't come on. One thing I did note this year was his defensive pressure improved considerably.

Surely he's better than Milera?!?

Grazz

I wouldn't worry to much Sydney are an extremely clever and professional club, i'm certain there'd be something in the wind. Id be very surprised if there wasn't. Maybe looking at getting a few youngins in, i'm sure they are on the ball though.

SydneyRox

Funny you say that Grazz. In having a look to see when Spangher was traded in and at what number, the 2010 draft is hopefully a good indicator of what we are capable of with picks that dont seem the best.

2010 Picks
21 - Jed Lamb
40- Luke Parker
57 - Alex Johnson
73 - Spangher
101 - Mike Pyke (promoted Rookie)

I have huge respect for Sydney and the brains trust, i cant remember a time where they really got it wrong over a block of trades. Ive asked meself a few times gee what are they thinking but in time you find yourself going oh now i know.

Will be interesting to see if Harry or Jed get a game this year in the 1s,

SydneyRox

You would think harry gets an upgrade and Jed should see some game time as well, assuming our best 22 dont make the whole season intact.

with the likes of TDL, Cambo, Nippa, Seaby, Meredith and co all leaving the club, surely Harry gets an upgrade with a late pick.
