So, we're dumping dead wood: Older stuff in Surj and Rodan, Sal, youngers in banner, webb, etc
We're letting go of things that weren't working: Chappy and Pearce
We're steering clear or Russell, Campbell, Gilham, basically experienced players...
Its been made clear picks 7, 30, 31 etc aren't for sale
We acquire two very young guys for GWS and another young guy from WCE.

Port have hit the reset button. They've taken a young side, and made them even younger and Ken has a 5yr contract.

Therefore are we expecting Port to go backwards this year? With players like Boak, (who when they hit their prime all these younger players should have developed to be competitive) are they going to stick around for another 4 years when they only have a two year contract. Port has to go backwards a bit again to go forwards. Clearly youth is the plan and resetting the culture in the club is also a priority with the flush. Thoughts?

Don't get me wrong, I think the team they're building looks good once some players like Cassisi and Kornes retire. Been happy with their pick ups thus far in the trade period.

... how was chaplin not working?

well he bailed didnt he Zip?

tbh Wes i dont think u can go backwards, i think PA have all but hit the bottom, Hinkley is a superior coach to Primus already bcos he has experience in proven systems that r different to that of what PA have had in the past, look at what Sanderson did up the road in 2012, inspired a list that was underachieving bcos the message was stale, change is as good as a holiday

When I say backwards I mean, blood young kids, try a new game plan that will take time to implement and essentially not win more games than they did last year but be better in the long term.
Any change is good when positive and well thought through.

I give all my port mates that Hinkley was last man standing cos no one else wanted the gig but I think he's doing a great job. Won't see win/loss results this year but give it 3 years and will be a finals contender again

Ratten "pulled out" of the job coz he kenw that he was gonna be turned down. ;) Saved himself embarrassment that way. :P

Hinkley has done a solid job with the forces avaible, solid some solid players in and a few questionable ones, but he's gone young which has been good for Port I guess. Hopefully for them they can improve again. :)

Losing ben jacobs is a huge loss but we should get mayes, mcdonough, broomhead and stark in draft

I imagine They will pick up Hayden Jolly at some point, and the midfield looks awesome going forward, hopefully Johnny Butcher hits some straps soon to help the short term success along and Shultz isn't done either.

Maybe a step backwards in the sense of win/loss ratio windi in order to go forward. I think what Ken and his team has done was the way to go and i applaud it. Really want Port to survive and prosper, i enjoy the rivalry we have and footy in my opinion would be a little boring in this state without them. When both side are up and firing it brings the best out of both in hope of being the dominant team in town, love it. Koshi getting onboard is a great get for the club this guy is a finacial wizard and would instill a certain amount of confidence imediately to a degree for their supporters who have largely carried the club financially of late.
