The more I'me reading on the Game Discussion thread, the more I'm disliking this, and the more it's making me want to give the game away...

Don't you wish you'd held on to your Seniors now CF? They probably would have sold for a lot more at EOS because training players to that level under this will so much harder.

Definitely don't like this.

Seems like a good way to make the game even more luck based, and is going to make things a whole lot harder for poorer clubs. Got to feel for the managers with high academies as well, this will surely have an impact on those...
Makes things difficult for clubs with young teams as well.

Honestly just think Ash should have increased the influence different skills (and skill gaps) have on a players performance in game.

Kind of makes me want to not come back to the game in all honesty...

Last 2 is me. High Academy and a few young players. I am lucky though as I did buy quite a few players recently so I got them cheaper than I would have next EOS, though if they have low potential  :-\

If any of my young "poster boys" have low potential, I am going to go ballistic  :P

I think that will happen no matter what at EOS. I'm running lav/lav in my main side. I wonder what the point is...

All existing playes will be POT4 - POT6 - which is still below the current rate (equivalent to POT7)

I honestly don't understand why Ash thinks this that this will get rid of the 'sameness' when 66% (ish) of players will still be the same anyway.
All he's doing is lowering the point to which they can be (reasonably) trained which gives older teams a massive advantage...
I must be missing something...

It would work reasonably well if there was a greater spread of potential (say down to like 40% 4-6) and with a smaller difference in trainign for each level, the way they have it now, means a 10 pot player trains 30% faster than a 4 pot player, which over the span of say 12 seasons of training will make them in total (at a rough estimate) around 9000 rating points higher, with just training primaries, training secondaries as well would give even a greater difference

For Ash to achieve what he wants to via a potential model EACH SKILL needs potential. Giving a 'blanket' potential is just lowering the overall skill of players. Not actually creating a variance in the skills changed.

By low I was meaning 4 or 5. 6 and I won't mind.

btw, is there a thread regarding a skill tree?

Cookie311993

Potential I think will make more people leave. I don't like the idea at all

Cyrus

i don't mind what he is trying to achieve
what i dont like is the players in the game ATM will have there training slowed it's had enough(after spending a small fortune on some players) to get them to the standard i need to promote and compete in DIV2-DIV1

What does everyone think about this? Obviously not going to affect us too seriously for the next season or so with only a 1% change instead of 5%, but still going to be very annoying if you're training a high quality player and then is given a potential of 4... :-\

Hoping my spec/spec 21yos don't get potential of 4... I'll be madder than a bull in a paddock with only other bulls around.

I haven't read through all of the threads on the FTP forum so I'm not so educated on the issue. But does anyone think there is a chance that this feature could be abolished in the near future or even not introduced after all the bad feedback it's had? I for one hate it and I think it actually ruins the game.

I am pretty sure that Ash is going to implement this
