Jared Rivers
Price: $391,500 (Fan planner)
2012 Games: 22
2012 Ave: 73
2011 Games: 20
2011 Ave: 79
Position: Backmen

Rivers will be the replacement for retired champion Matthew Scarlett next year at the Cats. He will be more interested in shutting down his opponent then getting the ball so he won’t be a good Supercoach option.

Rivers has shown he is durable in the past, as he has only missed the 8 games in the last 4 years. But in that time he hasn’t been a high scorer with averages of 63,68,79 and 73. Rivers played every game this season and was one of the few shinning lights in Melbourne’s disappointing season. Rivers was a little inconsistent though as he had 7 games with SuperCoach scores of over 90 and 7 games where he scored less than 60.

Even though Rivers will be great down back for the Cats, he will be around $400k next year so your better of paying a little extra and getting a true premium back. With the departure of Rivers at the Dees, it should see Tom McDonald get more game time and make him a good fantasy option down back.

2013 Supercoach Point Average Prediction: 75-80

Hasnt reached the heights he promised after winning the rising star award in his first year. Should go to the next level as part of the Cats back 6 but not someone I would consider for SC

Yeh no thanks, too much of a risk and tbh cannot see him turning into a fantasy superstar

Wont be anywhere near the top 10 backs or so...pass.
