ando_10

i dont mind it 8/10 mcmahon very underated very good at supercoach scoring not a fan of malceski rest is alright man

Colty

Thanks dudes, apart from malceski wat is t you dont like?

Colty

Ive been trying to think how to adjust my backline but im actually clueless as to what to do, Some pointers please!!!

Wild Thing

colty, think seriously about downgrading Burgoyne for either Trengove or Morabito and down grading Tippett or Franklin to Ziebell, Dangerfield or Medhurst and use the $ (about $900k after removing Malceski and Kenelly)to upgrade those two (Malceski and Kenelly) to any two of the following:

Duffield & $380k
Drummond & $375k
Newman & $385k
Lake & $420k

You have roughly $900k to spend making those moves so the world's your oyster in terms of upgrading 2 defenders.

IMO, you lose nothing by spending less on Morabito or Trengove instead of an injury plagued Burgoyne (bigger $ increase with either of these rookies also) and Ziebell &/or Dangerfield are going to spend a significant time in their respective midfields this year so their increase in $ will exceed the increase of Franklin &/or Tippett.

Colty

Mate thats gold, love the advice, Thanks bud.

Yeah your right about burgoyne proib bes to just stay away. I like Duffield as he has the abuility to score big ones reasonably consistently.

Ill let you know how I go and get your feedback if you dont mind.

Cheers

As much as I'd love Medhurst to return to his All-Australian days, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Think of it this way:

Players clearly higher in the pecking order than Medhurst:

Swan, Pendles, Didak, Davis, O'Bree, Ball, Beams, Sidebottom, Thomas, Cloke, Anthony, Presti, Maxwell, Lockyer, Shaw, Fraser, Jolly, O'Brien, Toovey

That's 19 players

So the final 3 spots will be fought between

Medhurst, Barham, Macaffer, McCarthy, Goldsack, Wood, L. Brown, N. Brown, Buckley, Wellingham, Johnson, Dawes, Rusling, Reid

and maybe a few bolters.

You really think he's guaranteed to get selected every week, especially with his age?

Colty

OK how does this look now.

Thoughts on this side now?

Colty

Just so its a bit clearer I traded

Kennelly out Lake in
Malceski  out Harry Taylor in

Burgoyne out  Marabito in

Tippett out Dangerfield in.

Wild Thing

Looks a lot better.  I might look at putting someone like Nathan Krakouer in for Taylor (picking up about $38k) and spending that on upgrading Vince to the likes of Boyd, Deledio or Watson.  Just my thoughts of course.

Colty

yeah nice, cheers mate. The word on Vince is that he is going to dominate this year, I think he is a gun, but not 100% weather he will have the massive price rise some are expecting??? what do you recon?

Wild Thing

The only issue I see with Vince is that, IMO, he's not a top class mid, but he's not a cash cow either, so I would find it difficult to put him in based on that.  My mids are currently:

Ablett (Top class, Ave 140)
J. Selwood (Top class, Ave 114)
Gibbs (Top class, Ave 111)
Ball (Cash cow, Ave 83 but should be at least 105 this year)
Trengove (Cash cow)
Martin (cash cow)

It might seem like I'm, contradicting myself by having Luke Ball in my side, but I think Ball has a bigger upside in terms of point scoring increase and $ increase than Vince does.  I think Ball can increase by 20-25 pts this year, and I can't see Vince getting to the Swan, Montagna, Ablett class of averaging 120-125 which is the same points increase as Luke Ball so I'd rather spend $70k less on Ball and upgrade him (or keep him depending on his form) for the second half of the year.

Colty

mmm im hearing your noise about Ball, I just purchased the prospective, and it indicates that he should score higher this year. Do you recon it matters if I have Ablett, Selwood, Pendles, Ball, then Martin and Trengrove? The 4 big names being from only tow different clubs? I still might stick with Vince, he is a class act who will improve but his price is reasonably high.

Pweter

Mate, last season I had, from round 1, Ablett, Judd, Joel Selwood and Gibbs, 4 premium mids from only 2 clubs. Needless to say I was pretty damn happy with the minimum average of 107.5 by season's end.

I think provided they win enough of their own ball and don't take possies off each other (like they would if they were similar players) then there's nothing wrong with having 4 midfielders from 2 clubs.
