NEW CARLTON coach Mick Malthouse won't have to wait long for his duel with his old team Collingwood, with the AFL set to stage a round two blockbuster between the clubs at the MCG next year.

While the AFL will release the full fixture later this month, it is understood the League has agreed to the clubs' request for an early meeting to help capitalise on what looms as a captivating duel between Malthouse and his former club.

Will Malthouse help the Blues get back in the 8??

kilbluff1985

not sure really a 50/50 call if you ask me in the mix with a few clubs that could/might make the 8 reckon it will come down to how many injuries they get or don't get

will be fighting with Geelong, Essendon, North Melbourne, Richmond to make the 8 imo so who knows

not saying the above teams will make the 8 but should be fighting for spots in the 8 at least

Top 4 ambitions in 2012, followed by top 8 ambitions in 2013.

That's not much progress when you have a million dollar coach!

Cicjose

its being realistic cruise

i do believe that they can play finals footy

they had a goal for top 4 and injuries and poor form cost them dearly

Ratten had a lot of holes in the last season that Carlton found out he couldnt plug so they swapped him for a coach who can create ways to plug those holes

Colliwobblers

I am willing to bet anything the Blues will make the 8 this season under Malthouse.

Changing a teams game plan culture and skills as well as fitness attitude intent all takes time, maybe a bit ambitious for them to shoot for top 4 and or a flag next season....

but they will be SIGNIFICANTLY better under Malthouse.

They have one of the BEST lists in the competition and ample facilities to work with....

Should be a serious contender in 2013 and if they hold the list together for 2014 a premiership favorite even...

RiOtChEsS

The goal should be the same every year, at every club... win the last game of the year

Ziplock

so...

in carltons case, round 23?

Colliwobblers

hmmmm I hope round 23 is their last, they are goingto be very hard for the Pies to beat next season, belted us twice this season and now with all the respect we (Collingwood Players) have for Mick we are going to be thinking they should be better and tehy belted us twice....

think they are danger games for us but also good "opportunities" for us to get a real boost from a win.

Looking forward to the games either way, I don't have the natural inborn hatred of Carlton I am supposed to as a Pies lifelong fan, but I have a hatred which is also very natural of any true Pies fan of losing to any team.....

they all gonna hate on us, then they all got to get beat down some  >:(

T Dog

Its not hate Colli...its a lot worse than that.. >:(

Anyone remember Carlton's last two games of 2012? And that was with nearly all the list back & firing.

If i remember correctly we smacked ur bottoms twice last year :D

Still a premiership short u SMart Fellas so back to the ole drawing board, or whatever they have down there  :P

tbagrocks

When will Carlton learn you cannot sack A grade forwards and be left with only one old injury prone key forward and expect to win flags! And they traded Kennedy :P

Maybe a Stringer or a Membrey is a must in the draft?

yes easily, don't forget the Blues were flying and premiership favourites at one point during the year
