OFFICIAL PRICE FOR 2013: $132,600

AGE: 22

HEIGHT: 176cm    WEIGHT: 73kg

2010 GAMES: 17    DT AVERAGE: 53

2011 GAMES: 13    DT AVERAGE: 51

2012 GAMES: 2     DT AVERAGE: 12

HISTORY:

2009 An elusive small forward who kicked 80 goals in 2009 as he alternated between Glenelg's U18's and reserves. The lightly built player was given time to develop.

2010 The speedy small forward made an immediate impact in his first season at Alberton Oval impressing enough in Powers NAB CUP campaign to be elevated from the rookie list for the start of the home and away season. He kicked 15 goals in his first 9 games but his output then dried up. Had post season shoulder surgery but earlier had been rewarded with a new contract and a spot on the the senior list for 2011.

2011 After shoulder surgery the speedy small forward could not replicate his performances of 2010. Played 13 games but only managed 9 goals.

2012 Struggled with hamstring injuries and only managed 2 part games for the season.

VERDICT: Showed alot of promise in 2010 but has been cruelled by shoulder injuries since. With Port delisting/losing alot of players for 2013 if he has a good pre season he might be exactly what Port needs .. small forwards. Expected to begin contract negotiations soon

PREDICTION: 50-60 ?  He would have to have a massive pre season and NAB along with being named in the round 1 team for me to even condider him .. cant see him making my team

Power fans of Hitchcock

UNCONTRACTED small forward Cameron Hitchcock is set to play on at Port Adelaide, with the Power expected to begin contract negotiations with the small forward soon.

Hitchcock, 22, played just two games for Port in 2012 as he struggled with recurring hamstring injuries.

But his manager, Greg Size of Deliver Sports Management, told AFL.com.au the Power had recently indicated Hitchcock would be offered a new contract.

"Port have said they're keen for Cameron to play on, which he's really rapt about," Size said on Thursday.

"He's happy at Port and excited he'll now get the chance to play under Ken Hinkley."

Port's commitment to Hitchcock follows a raft of recent player departures.

Hinkley took over as Port coach last Monday and just four days later the Power announced the delistings of David Rodan, former vice-captain Jacob Surjan, Mitch Banner, Simon Phillips, and rookies Mitch Curnow, Jarrad Irons and Daniel Webb.

Earlier this month, midfielder Danyle Pearce and key defender Troy Chaplin left Alberton Oval to join Fremantle and Richmond respectively via free agency.

Fellow free agent, out-of-favour midfielder Steven Salopek has also declared his desire to find a new home by the end of the Gillette AFL Free Agency Period on Friday, while Port's first pick in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft, 20-year-old defender Ben Jacobs, has signalled his desire to return to Victoria via a trade, with North Melbourne, St Kilda and Essendon reportedly among his suitors.

Port preferred not to comment when contacted by AFL.com.au about its discussions with Hitchcock.

Size said Port had not discussed the likely length of Hitchcock's new contract.

Hitchcock, 22, has played 32 games and kicked 30 goals for the Power since being selected at pick No. 12 in the 2010 Rookie Draft.

With the recent exodus of Port players an injury free season for Hitchcock could prove to be rather fruitful.

Interesting to Note

Ok so these clubs played two very young lists and did some different things. Buy hey you’re on holiday in another country. Nobody knows you here, you can mess around a bit and try things would normally wouldn’t dare do at home right? Well from this there were a few other interesting notes from this game that could have an impact in some way for the new season.

1. I hate to say this but Shaun Higgins was just about clear cut best on ground. He was obviously one of the more experienced guys out there despite looking like he’d fit in at a one direction concert, but this did show through as he was the most consistent over the 4 quarters. He kicked an equal game-high 3 goals and took a couple of strong marks inside 50. He is still on the never again list though.

2. Jordan Roughead played most of the game in the back half leaving Ace Cordy to do the majority of the ruckwork. Cordy was relatively solid in the middle throughout, but I found the Roughead move interesting. The Dogs are clearly looking at their options since the departure of Brian Lake.

3. Liam Picken spent a lot of time in the forward 50. He provided one of the highlights of the game with a big mark and goal, finishing with two majors. I imagine since there was no negating to be done Picken got bored and decided to annoy his fellow forwards instead by taking goals off them.

4. A couple of youngsters who showed flashes of form were Cameron Hitchcock and Alex Greenwood. I was impressed with some of Greenwood’s work in particular as he often found himself in space (not hard to do mind you) and used the ball pretty well. Hitchcock only played 2 games last year and is about to go through his 4th pre-season at the club. If he can string some consistency together he could be another to breakout this year.
