Another change, what can I say, I like to tinker! Just a couple of updates after the draft. Trying to give myself a running update with more news so hopefully by the time it comes around it should be spot on of what I want. I know theres not much room to move in the salary cap but will adjust that when the time comes.

Lost souls Fanplanner squad in the Dream Team competition coached by Decimator. Salary cap left: $11,500.

Brendon Goddard, Jack Grimes, Bryce Gibbs, Paul Duffield, Greg Broughton, Cameron Pedersen, Dale Morris
Jackson Thurlow, Tom Temay

Gary Ablett jnr, Scott Pendlebury, Marc Murphy, Luke Ball, Andrew Embley, Jaeger O'Meara
Oliver Wines, Jack Viney

Ben McEvoy, Todd Goldstein
Matthew Leuenberger, Majak Daw

Tom Rockliff, Danny Stanley, Clancee Pearce, David Zaharakis, Mark LeCras, Travis Varcoe, Joe Daniher
Brent Staker, Mitch Morton

Backs are weak and the rest of your team i don't think is strong enough to cover this.

I think this is because of your bench options, prismall, vardy and leuy are imo to expensive to have on your bench and the rest of your team suffers as a result of this.

Personally id drop mcevoy to grundy, prismall to say o'meara, play leuy as your 2nd ruck and get another back in there, then you'd be doing pretty well i would think.

thats just my opinion however :)

The reason I went like that in the rucks is with everything that has happened this year. I want to be prepared and have good backup. I lost 5 rucks this year and all those trades lost on fixing that had killed me. I know my backline suffers a bit from this but I won't be losing a whole heap of points down there.

Capper

Why not try Ball in for Swan and then upgrade a back. The points you lose from going Swan to Ball can be made up in the uupgrade.

Swan's price will fall and then you can get him as an upgrade later on.

Made a few changes from the original side as more trades have been made and are looking more promising. Not leaving myself with much room to move in the cash side of things but it'll give me some idea of what I want for next year.

Lost souls Fanplanner squad in the Dream Team competition coached by Decimator. Salary cap left: $185,500.

Jack Grimes, Bryce Gibbs, Paul Duffield, Greg Broughton, Nathan Bock, Cameron Pedersen, Sam Colquhoun
Tanner Smith, Jackson Thurlow

Gary Ablett jnr, Jobe Watson, Marc Murphy, Luke Ball, Andrew Embley, Travis Varcoe
Jaeger O'Meara, Jack Viney

Dean Cox, Todd Goldstein
Matthew Leuenberger, Brodie Grundy

Lance Franklin, Danny Stanley, Clancee Pearce, David Zaharakis, Mark LeCras, Joe Daniher, Sam Kerridge
Brent Macaffer, Brent Staker

Good team, love the stanley and clancee picks, but the rucks!
Here is my two cents.
Drop Cox and put Daniher into the rucks and chuck roughhead in the forward line where they can swap, this way you will have three premium rucks ready to play and an extra forward premium.
This will save you going cheap in other lines but still having brilliant security

+1 I think its a waste to start Leuy on the bench tbh, so I'd do what DT-SC said if you're worried about ruck carnage again... Although I don't think it will be as big a problem in 2013, it was a problem last year because we were taking punts on blokes like Sandi and Hmac who have injury history after Mummy went down.

So yeah, if you're worried about ruck carnage I'd swap Cox -> Roughead, swap him and Daniher and play Leu on field!

Also, if you have enough cash I'd be inclined to swap Varcoe for say Oli Wines, Jimmy Toumpas or Whitfield in the middle. Imo they have better scoring capability, and I can see Varcoe starting as a potential sub-risk early in the season.

That's what I thought but there was an article on AFL.com about Hird saying he wants at least 10-15 games from Joey next year...

Don't think I'll pick him but he could be valuable with his DPP with Roughy in the FWDs. You have to make sure you have a decent 3rd ruck who gets regular games though to pull this off.

Regardless of what Hirdy says, I wouldn't pick Daniher unless:

  • You have Roughy in the fwds
  • You have Daniher as R3, that is, two other gun rucks
So perhaps swap Leuy or even better, GRUNDY (!!!) for Daniher, and Clancee for Roughy. 'twould be gooooood

I completely agree mate, I won't be taking the risk on Dannyher myself cos i don't think he is worth it compared to Grundy/Daw etc. But if i was starting roughy up forward he would probably be my R4.

Made some more changes to bring in Goddard into the back line without losing too much. Still would like to keep the rucks as they are, not taking any chances and the rest of the side is still strong so I'm happy.

Like the look of that team Barra! Would only make one suggestion, that is to trade Mcevoy to a rookie e.g Daw. And upgrade one of Kerridge or schneider to a premo. Then would be a 8.5-9/10.
