500k might get you a handy player for half a year :P

Your kidding arnt u?

$14k x 40players actually = $560k ... Im pretty sure this would get a pretty descent player

Besides adam goodes i would think theres not many sydney players on more than $600k.. I might be wrong..  :-\

Quite an interesting read. Was in Melbourne (I live in Sydney) for the GF, taxis seem about half the price in Melbourne!

Property prices are much less, but apart from rent/mortgage repayments there is little else to justify the extra salary cap, but is sufficient enough in my eyes. It will be interesting to see what the review finds, if it is spread out evenly amongst the player group..

One thing the swans have going for their salary cap is the veterans allowance. Is it 30% of a players salary with 10 years of club service that doesn't count towards the cap? Goodes and ROK are probably two of the biggest salaried players but have been there past 10 seasons, throw in Jude and LRT, also McVeigh and Eski cannot be too far away from this either, it is a fair chunk of money that isn't accounted for in the salary cap.
