Just read this article on the AFL website stating that Jimmy Bartel will spend less time in the midfield in 2013 to give the younger midfielders the chance to shine.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/149703/default.aspx

Jimmy already spent a bit of time forward and back this year, will this give him a higher chance of getting dpp status or will it have no bearing? Will certainly get it in 2014 at the very least
Would be a handy M/F or M/D

Ringo

Agree Quinney - Would be a lock if he gets a mid/fwd Dpp

Capper

we spoke about this last year after he spent alot of time in the forwards but this year spent more time as a lose player in def. Will it be Mid/Fwd or mid/back??

Hopefully one or the other, he's a lock either way in my side

Don't think that champion data will base positions on an article

Would be a lock if he gets his dpp. Interesting to see where though? D-triple P??

somehow i dont think what geelong coaches say will influence champion data in any way whatsoever... very wishful thinking..

in saying that he might become dpp based on how much time he spent down back..

Does he still have a spot in our teams even with DPP?

His average has decreased every year since 2007...

2007         2008         2009         2010        2011        2012        2013
125.8 ---> 115.9 ---> 108.9 ---> 102.1 ---> 101.2 ---> 98.5 ---> ??

Jroo

Wouldn't think Bartel would be DPP.
Look here of the article about 2013 DPP by the Dt Talk boys!
QuoteAs explained by Champion Data: “We avoid anticipating possible role changes as they don’t always eventuate despite what a coach may say during a pre-season”. In other words, decisions around DPP status are only made on history, not speculation. So with that known, we can start to speculate on what that means for the 2013 season?

yes I understand that what coaches say doesnt mean that much but its that on top of the fact that he played multiple positions this season anyway. It wasnt necesarilly the article but what the coach was saying, Bartels role has been and will continue to be even more in 2013 as a swing player

Thats a very steady  and consistent decline. Will still be good for 95-100 though which is nice for a forward or defender
