Brock McLean

2012 stats:
Games: 15

Position: C

Average: 106.3

Tons: 9

Grade: 7/10

McLean in 2013
Price: $564,600 (Fan Planner)
Position: C

Since coming across to Carlton at the end of the 2009 season McLean struggled to get a game in the talented Carlton midfield only managing 10 games in two seasons before a run of injuries to the Carlton mids meant he was given the opportunity and he was finally able to play a stretch of consecutive games in the second half of the 2012 season. With the opportunity came some very nice scores. McLean played every game from round 9-23 averaging 110.5.
If McLean is given the opportunity to play the entire season in 2013 he may well become a premium mid however it is a big IF as we dont know the plan Malthouse has for him or the rest of the Carlton side. I think he showed enough in the second half of the season to be given the opportunity to continue in the midfield however I always have the impression that he will be the first player dropped should Carltons midfield not perform at any given stage.

Predicted avg: 105-110

Nice write up quinny.
Great second half of the year, but wont be a top 10 mid...pass for me.

Could be a decent POD, but cant go past GAJ/Swan/Pendles/Cotch/Murph/Mundy etc for spot in the mids.

+1 and McLean will never get a tag with Judd and Murphy in the side, but yer wouldn't go near him
