I'm very disappointed in how the trade period has worked.

I will rally hard to get it changed for the next one, but you can't change rules mid-stream.

One coach remaining, but all other trades have passed.

No idea how Trade 69 passed! Let's follow this logic....

Pick 10 was traded for Garrick Ibbotson, Simon Black, Martin Mattner and Matthew White

Pick 10 + Aaron Young = Pick 7

Pick 10 + Jack Hombsch = Brodie Smith, Mitch Brown and Ben Sinclair

Pick 10 = Brandon Ellis

So I guess it is a good think that trade passed, or else all those other ones would have failed.

Good to know that Brandon Ellis is equivalent to Garrick Ibbotson, Simon Black, Martin Mattner and Matthew White. Really, it is................ Perhaps that is why it passed, because so many other trades were dependent on it.

At least I neg'd it :D

You'd have to agree I'm a pretty good neg'er (not to be typo'd with the i version) when it comes to trades. :o

I think I neg'd 5 this week... so probably hit all 3 you wanted neg'd and the lineball trade... unless they were my own ;)

Don't worry about what happened in 2012. Those averages don't mean a thing.

Ibbo is the only player of any real value in trade 69.
Black is likely to be the sub for a lot of games next season. Unlikely to have a good average.
Matt White will struggle to get games. He could hardly get into Richmond's team this year and they have just recruited a player who plays in his spot. Fringe player at best.
Mattner is an old man who is never given any roles as a rebounding defender anymore.

We're meant to object to trades that we think are MAJORLY unfair. I don't think this was horrendous.

I was thinking this two. I would rather have pick 10 and ellis over those 4.  You wouldnt want to be playing black next year after what voss said and the other 2 are very average. Ellis I can see easily better than Ibbo.

So you think Ellis is worth far more? or far less?  ???

I think Ellis is worth Pick 10, I don't think Pick 10 is worth those 4 players. You'd be kidding yourself if any AFL team would make that trade.

Black is useless with 1 year left as a sub. Mattner is a pensioner, may even retire after that premiership. White is fringe.
Ibbo is a good talent, but his inconsistency annoys me.
Plus I freed up points for the stupid points cap!

So I'm pretty happy :P

Points cap (includes all delistings and retirements - i.e. Luke Power has retired, but his points still count towards the cap until he's officially delisted).

Was there an easy way you worked this out? Because i was thinking of doing something similar for Asians but it looked like a lot of work?

My awesome spreadsheet of awesomeness does all the hard work for me. You would need round by round statistics for every player basically.

Don't see how it could be implemented for Asians this year...

Punishing teams for drafting awesome is a bit rough. It's not my club's fault everyone else went young ;)

Yea well even if i did get all the numbers it wouldnt be fair to implement this year and it was just going to be thrown out there as i think there should be a minimum and maximum cap to stop tanking/overloading on oldies.

I dont think it means you'll come 2nd Nails :P

I was middle of the pack before last week though... like 8th-10th... forgot where exactly... but a couple trades and BOOM :o

Boomz

Tokyo trades Phil Davis + Jonathon Patton to PNL for pick 4 + pick 23.

Reason: Patton is too long term & this was the only offer that got near what he is worth in the long run. Davis I can afford to lose after gaining a few other defenders.

Accepted :). Was a fairly quick and painless process as well!

Reason: We rate those picks quite highly, and only left for last season's #1 Pick and the co-captain of GWS. Davis has quite good Job Security and is still young, and will fit nicely into PNL's youth policy, with the potential to score more (for the #23 we traded him for). Yes this draft is touted highly, but as we need forwards, Patton should score well once he gets over his injuries and GWS keep lifting their game. Basically just swapping youngsters!
