QuoteNORTH Melbourne's Cameron Pedersen is on track to join Melbourne in the Gillette AFL Trade Period, most likely in exchange for a second-round draft pick, his manager says.

Quote"Both Melbourne and North Melbourne have been moving in the right direction and I'm confident they'll be able to agree on a trade."

Lenton confirmed North was seeking a draft pick in exchange for Pedersen and believed it was likely the trade would involve a second-round selection.

However, he said the trade was unlikely to be completed until the end of the Gillette AFL Free Agency Period next Friday, October 19, when Melbourne will find out what compensation it receives for losing free agents Brent Moloney to the Brisbane Lions and, possibly, Jared Rivers.

So now they have Clarke and Dawes up front. Surely Bates is looking for other avenues??

:( Pedo is the one I want to stay, HMac and Cruize can go IMO.

Think he will stay if HMAC goes to the cats. We need a backup ruck and we can't rely (yet!?) on Majak.
Pedersen and Majak will both get opportunities if HMAC goes.
I read somewhere that the pedersen trade depends on the HMAC one which would make sense.

I think the fact that MAJAK has been elevated means that HMAC and prob Pedo are gone!!

He had to be elevated, had spent 3 years on the rookie list which is the max I'm pretty sure, either elevated or delisted.

Certainly hope it does, I've said it before and I'll say it again, really hope we don't lose both of HMac/Pedo, because like you said Maj isn't ready yet.

QuoteUnder AFL rules, a player cannot spend more than three years on a club's rookie list, so North had to elevate Daw to keep him at the club next season.

no worries thought it was 2 :)

glad i know now though

Well as soon as we traded HMac I wanted to keep Pedo, but rumours swirling that there may be a Gysberts <-> Pedo straight swap. I'd be happy with that trade.
