I agree valk, i like this move by Freo. Obviously taking the medical doesn't completely rule out injury risks but i really think Gumby can play and will be a great fit here
:'(
If he leaves maybe we should set up some group therapy sessions... :(
haha for a guy thats played limited games, he really is a fan favourite isn't he

valkorum

its ok Fletch, you can have Roberton

Boomz

First rounder or get flowered.

He seems pretty loyal though and is apparently leaning towards staying.

That is hilarious - 1st rounder for an injury player who has played 40odd games in 6 years..... no chance.  2nd rounder at best

Let me dream :P

Cicjose

leave the 2nd pick overall to rot

anyone in the draft will be better than him

Gumbleton should have retired

I thought I had heard it all from you Cic..... but WOW - are you freaking serious.  The guy has a serious amount of potential but just hasnt been able to get on the park due to injuries.

Cicjose

haha everyone has been saying that for years.....

you know what................. he hasn't delivered

so he is not what we should be looking for....

a Key forward who has no history of injury and can kick 50 goals+ is what we should be looking for and Gumbleton cannot do it

valkorum

Do you even think before you post Cic?  There were only 8 players who kicked 50 goals in the regular season and 9 players who kicked over 50 goals if you include finals

So we should be trading for 1 of the following players:

Matthew Pavlich
Lance Franklin
Jack Reiwoldt
Taylor Walker
Tom Hawkins
Travis Cloke
Drew Petrie
Stephen Milne
Jack Darling (only got over 50 goals due to goals kicked in finals)

Cicjose

#24
it doesn't have to be at AFL level............

any youngsters at local levels around the country who can kick 50+ in a season would be far more beneficial than this
first round draft pick spud...

Ben Saunders (WAFL)

Tom Lee (St Kilda)

Justin Hardy (SANFL)
Michael Wundke (SANFL)

Mitch Morton (Sydney)

James Kavanagh (NEAFL)
Nicholas Paine (NEAFL)
Shane Harris (NEAFL)
Ken Mcgregor (NEAFL)

i'll get the entire list after work

valkorum

Who would you rather have on the list?  JA or Gumby.  I would take Gumby in a heartbeat

You obviously don't know what #2 means Cic....

He's only performed poorly due to injury and not getting a full pre-season in him. He is a potential gun awaiting for the trigger to be pulled.

exactly why i'm so happy that we're a chance of getting him

Holz

Would be a great buy for freo if they can get him cheap enough. For too long PAV has had to do too much, if he can get his body right he could help you win a flag and should go part of the way of filling PAVs big shoes.
