ANOTHER West Australian young gun has been snapped up on the first day of AFL trade week, with Tom Lee being secured by St Kilda.

Lee has been on an AFL list before, spending the 2009 season with Port Adelaide before being cut without playing a game.

Returning to WA, but not giving up his ambition, Lee has since become a WAFL goal machine, kicking 39 goals in 15 games for the Tigers this year and producing a best afield performance in Foxtel Cup Grand Final against Werribee.

Under the AFL trade rules, Lee was pre-listed by the GWS Giants, who on traded the 21-year-old to the Saints.

The Saints have agreed to a deal involving its pick 12 to be traded to GWS Giants in exchange for Tom Lee, pick 24 and pick 43.

I have watched lee in the WAFL and rate him highly, take a really good contested mark and looks a level above the competition which is what you expect from a AFL player. Good move by them i think.

yeah it does because why else would you trade such a high pick for?

think of it like an equation, for both parties to be happy, the trade would be equal

So player X + pick 8= pick 7

So, playerX= pick7- pick8

which means basically, X= the difference between pick 7 and 8, which isn't extremely high...
