4-4 or 3-1-4 is the go in my opinion, alot of good mid rookies you want to have in your team.

Or is all depending if i pick up Ball, Mundy or Cotchin

Ablett, Pendles and Murph locked and looking like Wines, Omeara, Viney and ?   might even sneak a F/M guy like mayes in there for flexibility.

The_Captain

hoping wines goes to melb or port. That way isnt a real high price, and will get game time

Barra17

Wines is likely to go to Melbourne with good mate Viney.

Both should get a start in that midfield.. Especially with the departure of moloney.

I'm looking at a 3-1-4 setup at the moment, currently as follows:

Ablett, Cotchin, Pendlebury, Ball, Wines, O'Meara (Kennedy, Viney)

Can't fault that Toga, Only ball to a premo would be the only change. But Could make some good $$ out of Ball, so no need to change much.

thanks mate. i think its a pretty decent midfield, just gives me a bit more freedom elsewhere on the ground i think (in terms of salary cap space)... will definitely look at trying to get another premo in there over ball, but might not have enough moolah left

Yeh will probably be looking at the same 2 options as you. Will all be a matter of just weighing up the options when the official prices are released  8)

I'll def being going 3/5 for 2013 &  maybe, just maybe 2/6 if I'm feeling adventurous enough.

So many guns in the rookie mids, it's going to be hard to pick just 3 or 4.

As is usual not many people looking at the Mid pricers, everyones too hell bent on trying to get to the top 6 averaging Midfielders in the comp. In an ideal world that would be great as it gives you a great scoring base but it will probably leave you with a few holes. I'm basing this on the 4/4 or 3/5.

Just looking at your trades if we have 22 I like to put aside 6 for injuries, 16 for upgrades/downgrades on prob a 7 up 9 down basis trying to get my team to a finished product as quickly as possible. Was it 24 last year? I think I kept 2 for any glaring mistakes that I made in regards to the wrong rookies.

So basically your going to need to find 1 if not 2 or 3 "breakout" players if your going to get to a decent final 22. With so many rooks your going to have to either burn some trades, have holes in other areas or be super patient waiting for guys to rise.

Lasy year I had Ebert and was giving him a rap and sprooking the mid pricers around round 3 or 4 and some bright spark tried to rip into me saying how Magner was the far better pick and that come the end of the season he'd even out score Ebert! (I had Magner too by the way) Ebert went on to av close to 100, play all 22 games, imrove his av by about 36 and be pretty much my fav early selection, only falling behind trade ins on Cotch and O'keefe at there lowest ebbs. Magner, did he break 70 after that?

The point i'm making is a guy who will be the 20th odd scoring Mid is still not a bad pick if you can find him if he looks like playing all 22 games and having a good jump in his av and I think this year we are lucky to have quite a few options to choose from who could become this player. Just need to crystal ball it and pick the right one.

Good ideas, but the crystal ball is the big thing. I have three midpricers in my team atm (four if you count Leuy), and none of them are in my mids. Especially as there's a lack of non-mid rookies, I think it's a good idea to have your midpricers in the Backs or Fwds.

kilbluff1985

Strongly agree Stew go for the best in the mids get midpricers take some chances with your def/fwds
