Claye Beams - Age 21

Price: $352,700 (Fan planner)
2012 Games: 8
2012 Ave: 66.3
Position: Mid

Claye Beams  is a half-back/midfielder with good decision-making ability and clean skills who was promptly elevated to the Lions' senior list after impressing as a rookie. Claye started the season with a bang winning the Rising Star nomination in Round 1. Injury intervened and in the final 3 games  of the season for Lions resulted in SC scores of 80, 103,115. Was still eligible for Reserves and played in the NEAFL Northern Conference Final against Northern Thunder and won the Grant Medal as best on ground with 33 disposals, 4 goals, 6 tackles and 7 inside 50's.
Is not afraid to get in an under and will be a valuable addition to Brisbane's midfield next year

Dependant on NAB cup form will more than likely form part of Brisbane's best 22. Intense competition though at Brisbane for mid positions. At an awkward price but if he can average 90+ well worth the punt,

Projected SC average 2013 90 - 100

Nice write up. Beams could be a good pick up and hopefully he can start to play some good football like his bro

Adamant

Very risky to go someone like (Claye) Beams in the mids...
But you never know, could be the Redden of 2013.

Dayne broke out to a 100 point ave in his third year...
Any chance of Claye doing it going into his third next year?
Don't think i can take that chance in the mids

Technically Beams is probably only in his second year as he has only played 13 games so far for Lions.  Injury effected him this year. Have liked what I have seen of him this year but as you say maybe a risk with the quality of mids available.

monstrum

Yeh not for me bit to risky at that price.

Just picked him up in British though so all the best to him want to see plenty of contested ball ;)

Shihan7

Cant risk these sorts of players in the mids.

This may give further consideration to selecting Beams this year.  Will definitely get games this year,

tassieguns

once read somewhere that he's meant to be better than his brother!

He WILL break out this year :)

Obese Arachnid

It's a no for me.

I'm struggling to justify Luke Ball & he's 50K cheaper.
