Hi boys.

Any chance of one on Ryan Crowley, please?

Cheers.

Clancee Pearce

#46   Fremantle Dockers
Age: 21yr 11mth    Games: 50     Born: October 23, 1990
Height: 184cm     Weight: 93kg     Position: Midfield, Forward
Last Drafted: Round 5, Pick #75 2011 Rookie Draft
Last Drafted By: Fremantle Dockers

Clancee impressed throughout the 2008 season he represented Western Australia in the Under 18 Carnival and was named in the All Australian Team, He was also named as the captain of the 2008 WAFL Colts Team of the Year. Despite having a good year he was overlooked in the national draft. After training with several clubs before the Rookie draft he was eventually picked up by Fremantle with their 5th pick in the draft (75 overall)
Pearce continued his impressive form in the WAFL and was eventually elevated to Fremantle's senior list after a best on ground 26 disposals. He debuted 1 week later against Port Adelaide thus doing so he became the fourth Indian descent player to ever play AFL and the sixth debutant for Fremantle in 2009.

Fast forward a few years later and ex coach Mark Harvey described him as "Fat, Lazy and Overweight" This lead to Pearce being delisted. Ross Lyon was named the new coach of Fremantle and in his first few days he had several meetings with Clancee Pearce in which he stated he would give Pearce a lifeline on one condition, He loose weight. Now 7 kilos lighter Pearce had he best year to date played 22 out of a possible 24 games and become a vital member of Freo's charge to the finals.

Premium Player Rating (MID) - 8.2/10 Just qualifies as a premium due to his 7 tons he reached alongside 5 90s, Pearce was one of the success stories of the 2012 season by improving his average by an impressive 23 points. I would expect he would remain a Dual Position Player next year after spending time as both a forward kicking 18 goals 6 behinds and as a midfielder averaging just under 20 disposals a game. I would not expect his role to change much perhaps he might spend more time in the forward line due to youngsters such as Sheridan, Sutcliffe, Neale and co get more game time. I would see him play a more central small forward role next year.

Rating based on: DPP, Competition in the midfielder, Successful team

your man Tom Ledger please coll  ;)

Tom Ledger
#15   St Kilda Saints
Age: 20yr 7mth    Games: 6     Born: March 17, 1992
Height: 178cm     Weight: 76kg     Position: Midfield
Last Drafted: Round 3, Pick #59 2010 National Draft
Last Drafted By: St Kilda Saints

After being taken by the Saints with pick #59 in the 2010 AFL National Draft, Tom Ledger impressed in his first pre-season with the Club and was rewarded when he was selected for his first AFL game against Collingwood in round 11.

The pacey midfielder impressed in his two appearances at senior level, but was struck down by a serious hamstring injury.

After surgery to repair the injured tendon, Tom began his road back to recovery with fellow injured star Lenny Hayes, and marvelled at the positive support shown by senior players.

After a strong pre-season, the West Australian was chosen to play in all 2012 NAB Cup games.

A second cousin to the late Heath Ledger, Tom has learnt how to manage his time at St Kilda along with completing a part-time Commerce degree at University.

Tom has great endurance and can float forward to kick a goal and reminds some of the St Kilda faithful of a young Austinn Jones.

He is a really promising player for the future, with exceptional speed and skills.

Rookie Player Rating (MID) - 6.5/10  I would love to rank him higher, I would love to know he will play regular games, I do not even know if he will make it through trade period as a Saint. Huge potential can kick a goal, very very fast, excellent stoppage work, all the makings for a DT slut adn a great midifelder. But will he get the opportunity at the Saints and when?

Will have to advise you to watch this space, I will update his ranking and information over the preseason, definately one to watch, he has played and developed enough now he is almost like a mature age recruit, with a big pre-season and any confidence he is a starter in the saints best 22 you would have to seriously consider.

I started with him in 2012 and regretted it, had a big pre season and shone in the nab cup, then couldn't get a game in the regular season. This is the risk you take with rookies who haven't played for GSC or GWS over the past 2 seasons.

More to come.

I think for now the work Mr Craig does for rookies will do just fine, unless Colli and/or Noz have anything to add???

Mr Craig's thread is awesome. We will do a rookie thread which I will have Noz start some time shortly but not in the same sense that Mr Craigs is.

What we used it for last season was for a specific purpose of stating statistics breakevens , pointing out rookies on the bubble and  upgrade/downgrade targets.

This is a player research thread and that was a rookie thread. So while I think Noz might have a list of rookies and their DT stats for the u18 championships and some other stats.

All that will go in out rookie thread will be statistical information (mainly) NOT write ups like Mr Craigs, that would be just doubling up.

Again hats off to Mr Craig love the thread.

And Noz/Mine will be very different and aimed more at round to round reports in the season proper but will feature some statistical info in the preseason.

2012 injury article: http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/tyrone-vickery-out-for-season-dylan-grimes-to-miss-month/story-fnelctok-1226415975960

Mid Priced Player Rating (FWD/RUCK) - 7/10 - Originally drafted as a ruckman, he took a big step forward in his career in 2011. Definately being developed into a key FWD who can pinch hit in the ruck. 2012 was a write off for him, preseason injury to his shoulder which he never recovered from and ended up missing the back half of the season and off for a reconstruction of said shoulder.

Hard to rate his worth going into 2013, watch preseason form, at this point in his career as a KPP he is due to have a breakout season, will need a full preseason and to be in perfect health to take a punt on him. His scoring in 2012 was woeful with a high of 70 his only score over 61. That said he was injured the entire time and probably should have gone off for his reco earlier. Potential breakout candidate to be sure and when 100% fit I expect an 80 average season from him ahead of his becoming a premium the following season and entering constant 90+ averages for the remainder of his career as a KPP.

Depends on price as to whether you see value in taking a punt on a player set to break out but having missed the back half of last season with a significant injury.
